So when someone is top dps/hps doing all the needed mechanics, save the day, etc, he is getting carried just by not having a couple of enchants. Good to know.
Yeah, see - the top dps/hps won’t be a person who has no enchants. And they won’t save the day and do mechanics.
I can assume it because if they cba to get enchants or have knowledge to get enchants, they won’t have skill to do top dps/hps/mechanics - lack of enchant is a symptom of their lazineess and lack of general skill. Of course a top raider on an alt can do this trying to disprove my point but in general it just won’t happen - any player who takes this game in any serious manner will just enchant their gear because being top dps is literally their only way to excel at anything they do in life - that’s why top players enchant their gear - to be 0,5% ahead of the other guy.
And I’m not taking about lfr or heroic dungeons -here it can happen ofc. But it’s pretty silly content.
Your example of “Someone unenchanted” being top player is just… realistically not happening in any given circumstances - it’s just an outlandish idea.

People who do not enchant lower pieces are just realistic. You put too much value in enchants.
No - they show they “Don’t Care” - therefore they won’t tryhard in any raid encounter - they will 123 dps at the side, ignoring mechanics and doing mediocre dps to gear their 12th alt. That’s how this game works.
Depends, sometimes the unenchanted guy is the 465 alt of someone who typically plays at a much much higher level. But as a rule of thumb if you’re playing content “at your level” then being prepared is at least a basic form of respect.

Indeed no u are not being carried, but ENCHANTS are a lowcost and yes 5 - 10 k gold is not high so i dont see a reason why u should not buy low enhants for trivial gear
the fun part is cheap enchants for trivial gear is literally 5-10 gold a piece so like… how can people even defend not buying it XD
In my experience people who look under prepared are either terrible or incredibly good with little inbetween.
Because sorry, but i am not going to put thousands of gold enchants on a 450 piece i bought from the rift vendor. That is just realistic. And it is going to be of no influence the content will be a success or not.

IF the enchant is not going to be any influence - then you can as well go in with 20 ilvl less - no influence from character power. I mean, where is the limit of no influence?
Most upgrades you get on your gear is within 1-3% tops per upgrade on average anyway. With your logic you don’t really need any gear over world content gear because you can get carried by properly geared people anyway. And it’s a fact - if you have firends or whatever you can be naked as well. But this is a stupid take.
On a side note - last week I had a 20+ run with a mage who was unenchanted and did 0,5% below tank damage - with enchants he could possibly go over the tank. Just to save his face. Ofc we missed the timer - he was also terrible and kept dying - which should be a red flag at the very start for me anyway.
