I just came back to wow after quite long brake and I was amazed about the lore/music/world. Especially music is grate. So I just came to check forum to see any guilds on my server looking for people and I checked general forum and I just saw so much hate on blizzard and doom sayers like: WOW IS GOING TO DIE SOON. I think you guys played this game too long and there is nothing new for you and you are looking for reason to quit but you really don’t want to. I just want to tell you guys there is something like option to unsubscribe so if there is nothing to do in wow you can just unsub for few months while waiting for new patch and you can enjoy other games, don’t have to play wow all day long. When there is new content you can just sub again and enjoy the game.
Yeah forums are for moaning. Don’t mind about them and just play the game.
wow players are like junkies, they hate their addiction but they can’t quit.
The bling washes away after a while. I thought Shadowlands is the best expansion in a decade, but after first month, you find that there’s actually no content, nothing to do, and we got months left to next patch (july/august prediction).
It’s far from perfect unless you play very little, but hopefully they can do something good with 9.1.
Oh yeah I completely understand being angry about lack of content but you can just unsubscribe and don’t play if there is nothing to do. That’s the only way how you can “communicate” with blizzard. I don’t like this game - I don’t pay. That’s how they can see there is something wrong about this game. But there is a lot people who bought 6 months sub for mount. Never do that again.
If they see people being angry about state of the game and checking their bank accounts while there is 24982492849$ income why they should do anything about it if they don’t have to make new content and still have cash flowing .
This is a hard concept for a lot of people to grasp sadly

The forum is only a tiny fraction of the playerbase and out of that it’s only a minority that are claiming things like game is dying etc.

Exactly, forums are (mostly) for those players who like the game enough not to quit forever but have some issues with it.
It makes sense to have a net negative sentiment here.
There are 3 main mental states about how people feel about the game:

So you are comparing yourself, someone who has just came back, not even max level yet with all the content ahead of you to people who have played for months since release, have seen everything and can have complete opinion about expansion?
SL has been “just” released and we are months away from 9.1 probably. People are used to having some form of consistency with content releases when new expansion comes out not the half baked “patch” we have right now.
A lot of people won’t just take breaks, they will just quit till next expansion. That’s how it’s always been which is why we have loads of returning players in new xpac releases, however this time a lot of people won’t last even till 9.1.
But will WoW die? Anyone with common sense knows it won’t unless Blizorg literally shuts down their servers, but I’m pretty sure there will be consequences due to current situation, time will tell
Those players did quit if you didnt notice. Also players willing to sub again when there is new content is pretty low, becouse players know that they will sub, burn trought content and quit again so why even bother to sub in firsr place. If initial game is bad people do not tend to comeback for later patches.

Yea, there is a lot content for a newcomer. Keep playing and you’ll see the issues yourself.
About “everyone’s whining”, again yea, everybody’s a paying customer and has the right to do so.
I was playing a lot in legion because in my opinion that was amazing xpac, bfa was boring for me so i tried like 2-3 times but every time I was bored so I just left until now. Simple as that. By not paying them if there is nothing to do you shows that they doing something wrong. Many people just pay for nothing, that’s why they doing something like that. If they can have money for free, questions is why not? That’s how it works. This is not the same blizzard like it was years ago. This is corporation thinking mainly about money.

When I will reach this “Border” I will just stop paying and swap to another game.
The thing is i still love WoW I just hate what greed has done for the game.
The world art and the music are still top notch in this game at least I still like those there is no other mmo game that has this magnificent open world that I have found to me wow is still number one on that regard even if I moan about the game.
Only other mmo that I have spent my recourses and time that I really like is STO but that is mainly because I am Trekkie and the game has customizations that make wow look like tetris.
