I am both shocked, concerned and in complete disbelief.
Just went out to get me some nice Gin Tonic so i can farm some transmog and relax, i too my vocation days.
I get home - turn on the PC, log in, 30 seconds later im disconnected and PERMA banned for abusive chat.
I still dont know the details, i can only trace back not being nice to a few trolls in high mmr RBGs.
No insults, no threats, nothing outside of critique towards their abusive behaviour.
Yet i am not only banned but PERMANENTLY BANNED, like i did some crime, like i cheated, or duped items, boosted or smth like that.
This my dude is INSANE.
A few words, mind you not even insults doing my years of grind ABSOLUTE.
This is not a threat or me giving me some exsessive self-importance but
I give up.
Years of passion, loyalty , me feeding these guys at Blizzard my money, time and effort down the drain like that- over not nice words in essence.
Its beyond absurd.
Ironically enough while i was on my way to my house i saw this short video by Supatease called “PvP Setting You NEED Enabled” and he talks about the setting of disabling chat.
If only i saw this sooner Id go asocial in this supposedly social game.

Permanent not even a warning, not even 3-6 months or anything like that.

Anyway, to reach a “permanent” for abusive chat you must’ve had a silence, then multiple increasingly longer suspensions. After a 2 or 3 week one, any next can be a permanent. That means you’ve gone over 3-4 penalties before reaching a permanent ban. These won’t fall-off, ever.
That is quite a few chances you’ve thrown in the gutter.
You may appeal. But if you did abuse other people or misused chat, chances are they won’t lift this one.

If what you say is true it really sucks. Everytime i see people saying they´re banned for no reason i tend to take that with a grain of salt though. Especially since you even aknowlege that you´ve been banned in the past chances are you simply used up all your warnings about your behavior.
Im hardly a saint n type in chat both in shuffle, blitz, normal bgs n what not whenever i find a need to do so n i´ve not even recived a single warning. If the problem was so widespread i feel like an endless stream of banned people would appear. Chances are you stepped out of line n blizzard looked at the logs n came to the conclusion that you´ve been warned before n dident listen to the warning.
If you´re actually innocently banned that is truly horrible n im sorry to hear that but from what i´ve observed it tends to be toxic people that ends up warned or even banned.
Im generally not in favor of heavy chat monitoring in any game where the playerbase is almost exclusively adults but in WoW´s case i think the antisocial toxic behaviors has escalated so hard that its almost needed.
In DF i killed a prot warrior ONCE inside a wPvP location n he spammed death threats n insults in whisper for 3 days straight without stop before i eventually just reported him.
i got banned 3x times because people reported me for the name of my feral.
so i can tell you, name reports and chat reports are almost not moderated and are an automated ban, asmongold has proven it multiple times, where some haters, just massreported him, he got banned, and had to make a gm appeal, where the gm said “oh i cant see anything reasonable, why u should be banned/muted, i will unbann u and will take a look into this case and action will be taken against those people what abused the report system”

I was Banned before > a year ago. Yes it was a silence then a longer suspension and ban and then 6 months ban but that was more than a year and half ago.
According to the information on the site after a period this clears out.
I receieved a warning for calling a guy something of the sort of “dude please just do you assigned role or you gonna cost us the game, you’re losing our time rn”
Then similar critiques towards literal trolls who literally did intentionally the oposite of what they must do in order to sabotage the game.

I did raise my tone and that could be presumed me being mean. Which infact im not the nicest of people but by any means i wasnt swearing at the guy , insulting him or disproportionally stress him out in an irrational way.
I was mostly trying to communicate that what they were doing is wrong.
I wasnt even venting to get my frustration out i was genuinely arguing with them so i can change their ways as they were outright trolling.

Yes i´ve heard of this happening so i know its a problem. It sucks that the system is automated in general but from what i´ve seen n heard it seems that temp bans can be handed out by the automated system where as permanent bans are manually handled. In either cases appealing it should be no issue then if the bans are false. So long as false reports are also punished the system will work.
The WoW playerbase are infamously petty so if the problem was exessively widespread it´d gotten more attention by now. I never stated that false bans doesnt happen im convinced it does but in alot of cases it mostly seems to happen to toxic people who claims innocence. The fact that he has been banned before suggests to me that he isnt particularly well behaved, i have no evidence to back up this statement however so it could be a case of him being the victim of mass report abuse.
If thats the case he can appeal it n the ban will be lifted though.
The penalties intensity should reduce after some time.
This if anything should be a simple 3 month ban or a silence if anything.

I told you i simply criticized a person who also was breaching the agreement, they were trolling and i was trying to get them to play their role so we can win nothing more nothing less.

I’m just saying that generally after that, they will permanent ban you for anything that is considered a breach of their rules since you’ve already used up your chances.
The penalty no longer is applied to how “severe” the infraction is then at that point but how many times you’ve had previous escalated penalties.
the problem with the appeal thing, the barrier as a “normal player, not streamer” is really high nowdays
in the past, u had a Mobile Service, Life chat Service, which almost no longer exists I think because Blizz wants to safe Costs, even the German Translation in the Game is made by Ai, and have many mistakes
when i got Muted for no reason, because a grp of Bots in Sod Massreport me, it took me 5 Tickets, to get an Actual Human, and not Just an Automated Ai Response in my Tickets, it´s really Crazy that they are trying to safe so much money on personal

Reminder: I never abused any bugs, im not a booster, i dont bot, i dont disrupt others RPs, gameplay, i dont even play a broken class (i play feral of 10 + years, always was), when someone pisses me in world pvp - i kill them once or twice and i let them breathe.
In what world do we live in that you get permanently banned for words that werent in the context of insult even not to say that they were literally no insults.
