Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out here because I’ve hit a dead end with Blizzard support, and I’m hoping someone in the community or from the team might truly look at my case.
Recently, my World of Warcraft account was permanently banned for “exploitative activity.” I was shocked, because I never intentionally broke any rules. I’ve been playing WoW for many years, across all versions of the game. I have over 60 characters, and WoW is not just a hobby—it’s been a big part of my life, especially during some really difficult times.
What’s most frustrating is that all I’ve received are automated replies. None of my tickets were reviewed in a human or thoughtful way. I wasn’t told exactly what behavior caused the ban. I even said in my appeals that if I unknowingly did something wrong, I’m willing to take responsibility, but I need to know what it was so I can understand and prevent it in the future.
To make things worse, I don’t currently have the financial means or mental energy to start all over again. I’ve put years into this account—progress, achievements, effort—and it’s all gone in a blink without even a warning.
I’ve always tried to play by the rules. I’ve reported bots when I saw them, and even convinced some friends to stop playing on private servers and move to the official servers instead. I believe I’ve contributed positively to the WoW community.
There was even a time when a server-side issue caused my entire Hardcore character and progress to be wiped, and I didn’t complain. I accepted it, because I respect that sometimes things go wrong.
But now I feel completely ignored and discarded. I’m not asking for a miracle. I’m just asking for fairness: a real, human review of my case, and the chance to make things right.
If anyone from the Blizzard team sees this, please take a moment to reconsider. And if anyone in the community has had similar experiences or advice, I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks for reading.
Nobody here can help you, official support is the only place to get an answer.
Even if that means dealing with their automated replies.
Keep trying to finally reach a human.
If all else fails, try to invoke that EU right about requesting all data they have.
I think I heard that The EU can also has customer protection department that will investigate and take appropriate action if they deem they have a case without that costing you anything.
I do want actions to be taken against people who break the rules, but I find the secrecy behind how the decisions are reached to be reprehensible and prone to abuse.
Sadly no one here can help you. You can only keep trying through official channels.
That said.
c’mon…
Consumer rights and complaints
Blizzard has full right to terminate our accounts which we agree on before we can start playing the game. I dont think they will do anything for closed accounts through consumer rights. Its more for the cases that if you purchase something somewhere and they dont ever deliver it to you, then you can dispute the purchase or if it were faulty and they refuse to return money etc.
Thank you so much, my friend. I’m really upset and don’t know what to do. I sent a ticket saying that I don’t know what I did wrong, but I apologized for it and promised to make sure it doesn’t happen again. They replied that they found no signs of my account being hacked.
Probably to point out as part of some other statement that your account has not been misused as if your account would be hacked then you would not be responsible for what it has been used for. They add that line on appeals aswell indicating that if your account has been hacked then you are not responsible, and otherwise you stay accountable.
I didn’t talk about the hack at all and said I was responsible for the account, and his response was as if I was claiming my account was hacked.
Hello Hofin,
im sorry that this happened to you.
can you please tell me what you did in the last 8 days with Details?
what were you doing in the last 8 days in the game
i may be able to help you
what was the reason on the email they sent you?
Hi friend,
Thank you so much.
Most of my time has been spent leveling up characters in the Gennas realm on the Horde side in Cataclysm. I also leveled up a Rogue a bit, participated in RBGs, and leveled professions for my ready characters. As usual, I spent a little time on herb gathering and mining to earn gold for game time on Retail.
My English is weak, I apologize for that.
You might have without you knowing got mixed up in win trading if you mean “rated” not random bg’s
But keep placing tickets in until you speak to a human.
I joined the RGB Win and Farm CP parties.
They will mention it anyway to inform you that if your account has been hacked you are not responsible, and otherwise you would be accountable. Its add to any appeal as standard.
Twiluna I can’t reply to your question, I’m saying this because of the cheat and exploit.
1: ok so if your were playing and farming on Cataclysm classic.
it could be because of botting or Gold selling or doing something meow meow
or maybe you were in the middle of bunch of dudes that were doing this and you got wrong ban,
2: if you leveledup a rog via dungeon finder and didnt boost people or take their accounts to do it for them. then maybe you were in the group of someone that did this and you got a wrong ban.
Basically if you are honest that you didnt do anything meowmeow or against the rules then this should be a wrong ban.
or maybe you went into rbg with a boosting group or something bad and you didnt know whats going on
if you have more details you can share it with me
maybe . thx mate
Ban discussions aren’t allowed on the forums to prevent speculation and wrong information being given.
Replies by human GM’s are templated. That means they answer similarly across many repeated questions on inquiries. That you disagree with the outcome doesn’t make it not “thoughtful” or automated.
They generally do not enter in discussion or reveal what you did as that may tip off exploiters/cheaters.
If you think the ban is in error you may appeal.
Good luck!
I have always been honest, I have not done any gold buying or selling. I farm for 3 hours a week, and that is all spent on game time. I have all the Herlium and I leveled up my character with quests and dungeons. I had nothing to do with boosters and I don’t enjoy being boosted.
then it could be a wrong ban.
keep talking to customer support .
if you have screen shots or any kind of proof give it to them too,
sadly problem of blizzard is that they dont give the detail of the mistake that the player made so those player can stop doing it again and learns what was their mistake
