Personal loot for TBC

Let’s not talk about Legendaries but how the loot system always works.

Also one big question before we proceed with chat. Are you an officer ??

Ofc he is, you can tell by the way he speaks.

You are right , i just asked a guild member and they say he is  Legendary boy

Yes I do happen to be a officer.

No thats just my autism.

Then you can also ask them if I was a officer before or after I got my first binding.

I have the tendency to become a officer in guilds im in because I know way to much about the game and im dependable. Have I ever used my postion to get a piece of gear, no actually I havent.

Let’s not pretend like Loot Council is a moral loot distribution system. It’s heavily favored towards nepotism. You piss off the wrong guy? Bye-bye to your loot.

Only thing my guild have used a full on LC for was the first TF, it was decided that there were 2 people who were allowed to roll when ever we got the first binding to drop, it was me (who was defacto MT) and a Officer that is also a tank, at that point I wasnt a officer.

It would be a waste giving TF to a non tank at that point and if I hadnt proven that I was dedicated to the guild and showed up every week it would for sure have gone to the Officer seeing as I wasnt a officer then.

PS When did I ever pretend that LC was a moral loot system? Its good for just the rarest things in the game.

Please keep in mind that you are precisely the demographic that benefits from the system, or at least does not suffer from it. Remember, just because you are not affected by a problem, it does not mean it’s not a problem.

It seems to me you are unaware just how hard it is to get the most valuable loot from raids for a regular Andy, because a large % of it is always reserved for the host or his affiliates.

and somehow as i asked another question , a second officer got Legendary :"D>!

You see a problem that is there if you dont run with the same group of people over and over again. If you run with the same people every reset you will get loot sooner or later that is a fact.

Lets see now, do I have DFT? I dont have it, do people in my guild have it? Yes there are people in my guild who have it.

Do I have Bracers of Brutality? No I dont. Is there a dps warrior in my guild who have Bracers of Brutality? Yes there is.

Wanna know why I have nether of those items? Its because in at least my guild being a officer and the MT is not going to guarantee you all the gear you want.

In 2019 classic I was also a officer and a tank and guesse what I didnt get in a guild that actually got 3 TF, I didnt get one of those back then, we did the mistake of letting non officers be in on the action after the first one was done, and both of the non MT people that got TF left within a week of getting TF.

We only have 1 legendary in my guild, and its on my back we have another officer who have a binding, and he actually didnt get it with us but with a pug.

Now the question to ask was wether I was a officer when I got my first binding or not. Spoiler I wasnt a officer then.

And then >~

Well you are a tank

Isn’t this from Aq 20 ? i mean i have done it with 2 alts’ (Pug this week) I mean if you also need a boost in Aq 20 what can i say…

First, I should not be required to run with the same group over and over again to get decent loot. Second, “sooner or later” is a diabolical statement in this context. The whole problem is that regular people get it later

Whether or not you in particular exploit it, is completely irrelevant. The point is that in general people exploit it and make the game worse for regular players

And is DFT a tanking trinket? Yes it is.

But is it BiS for tanks? Yes it is. Both of the items I brought up are BiS for tanks, DFT is ofc amazing for every physical dps (minus hunters as they dont need hit). While the bracers are actually not really good for anyone except a tank.

I would literally rather se a legendary destroyed than to go to the likes of you. I’m not even exaggerating. It is better for items to not exist than to go to unworthy people.

THIS is the reason for the whole song and dance surrounding the distribution of legendaries and extremely valuable epics. Making sure it stays “in the guild”, that the raid benefits from the item for the following phases. The entire point of giving TF to officer main tank that is an irl buddy of GM is that he will be there for the guild in a year using that TF on elf packs before Kael’thas.
I would never even dream of taking Atiesh, not only because mage version is crap compared to priest and lock, but also I don’t want the responsibility of being the one who always provides the buff to caster group and makes Kara portals for the guild 2 years down the line.

It is not exceptions. It is very usual for healers.

They could just lock warriors and paladins to plate gear and buff them accordingly. But it’s too much work for blizz.

Same for other classes, but I hope that goes without saying.

But to guarantee that you get the really good loot you need to run the same content over and over again anyways, running with the same group of people means that each time a item drops and you dont get it someone else got it and wont need that item again. You are stacking your odds even by being a regular in a pug instead of just being a random person who will never be seen again.

Being there every week or as often as possible stacks the deck in your favor.

I dont think most people exploit it, most people are only in it for them self though and while personal loot would make it easier for people that dont want to commit to playing with others for sure it would ether not be used or it would have to be forced.

No pug organizer would want to go for personal loot instead of master loot if they were allowed to chose as they are in it for them self, in a guild it would just no be optimal, lets go for a theoretical one that would be in now if it was personal loot, a paladin gets both bindings (seeing as they are marked as a class that can use them if you look up the bindings) but seeing as they ether wont be using a 1h seeing as they are ret, or they will be healing in the raids seeing as there is no taunt in vanilla the paladin would most likley never actually use TF in raid content before TBC comes out. It would be wasted loot that could have been used to make future raids smoother. And thats the reason why no guild would use that system if not forced on them.

And also just a thought, if people were able to chose between joining a pug where its personal loot or a pug where they can SR a item im fairly sure most people would go for the SR pug once they have around half of the items they want seeing as the personal loot system dosnt care if you already have legs or not.

You are saying “If you commit to a certain roster then you will have less problems and it will be more optimal within the current loot system”. It’s a fact, I am not arguing that. It has nothing to do with the matter in question though.

The point is, regular people have artificially impaired access to valuable loot because it is always reserved. I do not think you are getting it

And I would literally rather see a legendary destroyed than go to someone on the account of hosting a run or being a tank.

The problem with the random distribution of best gear within a threat-based combat system, is that the entire raid is weakened by it. If your tanks don’t have the highest threat output, especially when “taunt swaps” aren’t possible like in Classic pre-expansions, is that the raid will always have to hold back on their DPS because everyone suffers if DPSers overaggro in raids.
Another thing is that everyone works together to further progress. But if people who don’t show up to raids gets the gear needed to progress further, then the progress will be slower or not possible at all simply due to people showing up not having the gear needed to do so.

This is why socially determined loot systems were created and improved upon, which refers to every single loot system not under the domain of the game. The opposite of socially determined loot systems would be for example “Personal loot” like in retail.
