Pet Battles, Pokemon and palword Lawsuit

Nintendo’s become worse than EA imo.

They add nothing new to pet battles in a few expansions and then wonder why people are interacting less.
Like add a new pet battle dungeon or celestial event or something.
New pets are great but if there is nothing new to do once collected it’s kind of not surprising that people do less.
Give us more content and we will do it.
Don’t just abandon it and say there is no interest

What can you add!

The questline to get the Minion of Mayhem title was great. Could’ve done similar ones for other vanity stuff. Heck, maybe a toy to ride a giant version of your pet [like the brewfest hops/Winterveil item to transform your mount]… that’d be fun.

Another dungeon - people loved the pet battle dungeons especially the hard modes.
A celestial type event or something like a world boss pet battle.
Adding outfits to pets.
Adding them to the Home in like a little back garden area
More trainers etc

Like all the above is without changing any systems and people would play it.
If you want to iterate as they have suggested then you can go wild.
Like a whole new leveling system or something where you can teach pet a spell they wouldn’t normally be able to learn.
Or something else with combat, give pets 6 spells base and more choice on level specific stats.

I am not a dev and I have no idea if these would work but the bit that grinds on me is that they are saying they aren’t developing cause no one does it but if you look at it people do, even when the content is lacking for them they still play.
So the arguement that people aren’t playing or interested is almost insulting as a member of the community.
Just add something and I bet you will get participation

All of the console manufacturers are Nestle at this point, and many publishers too.

The only difference is that the games produced and developed by Nintendo are Games with capital G.

They’re infamous for the quote “Drinkable water shouldn’t be a human right” or something along the lines.

Name the last EA game you remember that had 90% user rating. The last one I remember myself playing was Need For Speed Most Wanted, and that’s before 2010.

I suggested a weekly quest that asks us to defeat all 8 pet trainers and it would reward an Augment rune. Nothing too game breaking. That alone would make at least 50% of raiders, M+ers and PvPers do Pet Battles.

/shrug… not touched an EA game in like 20 years.

It isn’t - this was explained to you clearly in the first 2 posts.

If it were patent related Blizz would have to remove it in its entirety. Your whole blathering is just nonsensical.

Which is why they go after websites like EMUParadise etc who are in no way shape or form able to fight litigation.

It’s an age old trick by big companies to throw their weight around, because they know easy targets will never be able to fight their case in court, even if their case was winnable.

Nintendo are notorious for being litigious bullies. They only get away with it because Japan are… well. Japan. As far as Japan is concerned, any videogame company that isn’t Japanese shouldn’t exist.

When Skyrim was relased in Japan and their possibly most influential videogame reviewer famitsu gave it ten out of ten the japanese videogame media nearly had a nervous breakdown.

A foreign game getting 10.10?
An AMERICAN game get 10/10!!??

But it’s always been this way with Nintendo ever since the NES. They’ll stand and puff their chests out at the likes of me and you, but when it comes to companies the same size or bigger, like Microsoft, they’ll fold quicker than a red-hot Mars bar under a heat lamp.

I remember one time they actually tried to sue SEGA for the blood code in Mortal Kombat and they almost tried to sue CAPCOM for breach of exclusivity contract when CAPCOM announced Champion Edition for the SEGA Megadrive, claiming that CAPCOM had guaranteed them exclusive rights for Street Fighter 2 until they were shot down by their own legal team who gently reminded them that CAPCOM’s contract was for Street Fighter 2 World Warrior and Street Fighter 2 Turbo, not Champion edition. CAPCOM, being a different company then, went and flipped Nintendo the bird by putting in a conversion of Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting in with Champion edition renaming it Special Champion edition.

I would be what you call a filthy casual, I do pet battles seriously when I have finished with any new content.
PvP is never something I enjoyed but I love the Squirt days, and world quest battles. The weekly from the garrison is always a reason to go back as well, I then end up doing off shoots of other stuff.

Has it been considered that you could have a few “weekly” pet battles to let you collect special pets, there have been times I wish I could try and collect the pets we battle on the weekly’s
They could be ones you can’t then go onto battle but as a collector be proud that you have succeeded in getting it

Can some one how I can engage in pet battle content while Blizzard did not add new pet battle content in this expansion? There was no dungeon, no new special event. No secret pet that we will be searching for months. Where is my pet battle gameplay?!

Pokemon dont own patent for finding pets or having pet battles in games. Sounds ridiculous to hold any worth. And blizz has said pet battles continue.

  • For players who love collecting pets, there should be significant numbers of pets to collect.
  • For players who love to do pet battle combat, that will be available.
As time has passed, we’ve seen fewer and fewer players enjoying pet battle combat, so this is an area we want to iterate on.
  • There will be some new pets in Midnight that are capable of battling.
  • All parts of the pet battle system that were implemented in previous expansions should continue to operate as they have before.

We’re experimenting with some alternate methods to obtain pets in Midnight

This thread aged well…:see_no_evil:

I wonder how soon will housing suffer the same fate…

What do you mean, do you mean that some construction company would sue blizz for building houses in their game? Wont happen. It’s the equivalent of pokemon supposedly own right for any game which would contain aspects of collecting pets or fighting with pets, they dont hold such right to the concept. Would have to have a lot more similarities to the pokemon franchise than simply game having pets in it.

so i won’t get easy 200 points for travelers log by pet battling 15x level 1 pets? sad.

No, I mean how long it will take to reach the stage when Blizz will consider not continuing housing because not too much players are engaged in it.
