To be fair , wow music is generally cool, and WoD’s was marvelous!
Magnificent Desolation, Malach, Blackrock, A Hero’s Sacrifice and others were of my own favorites personally.
It really is. Say what you want about WoW… and we all do… the music as you enter Stormwind is still grandious and awe inspiring, setting the theme as perfectly as the tribal drumming that slowly eases into life as you approach Sen’jin Village.
Visually as well it’s just wow! in many cases. It doesn’t really work as well on retail I find, it does still work, but it works especially well on classic – the approach to Ogrimmar, this imposing wall of rock that dominates the dry, arid landscape in front of it both inviting you in and telling the story of the Horde to that point in many ways. Then Stormwind as it slowly peaks out from the trees of Elwyyn to suddenly impose itself.
Both teams do a magnificent job.
Yeah, the glyph system seems like wasted potential… I actually quite liked the original implementation too, when glyphs actually had minor stat effects. They really need to actually take the time and just like, add more glyphs, and keep adding them; they can reuse art assets for it even, it wouldn’t even be that much extra work.
In general I wanna see more cosmetic and collectible stuff… or specifically more variety in them. Mounts are great and all (altho always disappointed when it’s a ground-only mount, since y’know, I never use those), but I really want more glyphs, transmogs, pets, etc. Glyphs are especially nice since they affect things you see all the time, really lets you make the character your own, and so many possibilities even with just a little bit of work… not to mention you could tie it into whatever patch is currently live, giving players both reasons to play the content more, and something to remember it by later on.
Legion and earlier actually seems to have a thing for dropping non-combat pets from rare mobs and other encounters, which I am really enjoying. BfA doesn’t seem to have much of that… tho Wicker Puppy is fun!

Finally went and cleared a Vision. I guess that leaves the mask challenges and cloak leveling, but having cleared it at all was a bit of an 8.3 goal of mine.

After getting into Lovecraft (I’m about halfway through his works? I think), I have finally gotten into Conan the Barbarian, with the Lovecraft connections being the ultimate excuse to pick up what I thought may end up being a stiff, boring read. Just finished the first story, and… it’s actually pretty cool!?
On one hand, the story is so simple and cheesy that it seems almost parodical. Which is no fault of the author himself, of course, considering its age. On the other, the prose is absolutely amazing and more than compensates for the narrative “flaws”. It’s like… elegant and sophisticated, but at the same time super spectacular and engaging.
Def recommend it to anyone else who wants to read some older fantasy stuff that isn’t Lord of the Rings.

I thought I had finally dropped For Honor for good, but the devs just dropped an absurd dream patch onto the PTR that addresses basically every significant gameplay complaint from the community.
Looks like this old soldier won’t get to retire just yet…
My wife and daughter popped into work to come and see me today, which never happens. So that was super delightful.

Bought tickets to the Chicken wing festival in Manchester to go with a bud. I’m excited. It’s so awesome having friends to do things with finally.

I had no idea it existed until last month where it was advertised on facebook.
It’s as it sounds. A festival for an estimated few thousand people they think… based around chicken wings. Entry fee and i guess pay for your dishes but it’s all chicken wings. And alcohol. And music.
But mainly chicken wings and guhhhhh. I got tickets for my friend and I… Maybe everybody I know IRL knows me for my chicken wings lmao.

The Crusader Kings 2 warcraft mod has been updated again. May try it out when I can. Is anyone else playing it? May as well set up some games or so.
Enjoying Classic so far. Can’t wait to reach the Plaguelands.

Got the… thingy… Rank 3 of the Mechagon essence and it only took under an hour to grind all those spare parts in a good group.
And in other news I’m off out with a friend and feel damn good.
