It is, no doubt, the best Warcraft novel I’ve ever read. I may be biased, because it’s set in Kalimdor, which I’ve had a soft spot for ever since WC3. But it’s just the kind of story I like: relatively down to earth while keeping true to the high fantasy theme of Warcraft, focusing on a relatively mundane cast traveling the wilds and having local adventures, as opposed to superheroes saving the world for the umpteenth time. It also adds a lot of minute lore details that make the world feel more alive (I chuckled at the part about ogres thinking that kaldorei meat tastes terrible, for example).
Oh, and it makes the world feel much larger than portrayed in-game, which I always appreciate. (It takes the characters several days to cross Feralas, for example.)
I have alts though I hardly ever play them. I just make them, write profiles and… keep them there in case I do end up playing them. It’s good to have options.
Just the bit from the very start gave me that simple worldbuilding stuff I’ve wanted for so long. We learn about Gnoll culture, which is followed by a visit to a port town (or is it the other way around…) filled with races from all across the world. It paints the world as more complex, where not everything revolves around the Horde vs Alliance + Save the world stuff. That’s the GOOD STUFF.
I finished Disco Elysium. It’s a very good RPG. I was worried it had been overhyped but I really liked it. I really dug the themes and the aesthetic and the tone and the writing and the overall design.
I don’t think I got the ‘best’ ending but I do think I got a ‘good’ ending. And that’s quite enough.
Only got 2 trophies left now (I think), kill Queen Yharnam and the accept Gehrman’s deal ending.
Will push my main through NG+1 for the other ending without killing all the bosses. Am however going to kill Ludwig, Living Failures and Maria in the DLC because i can’t just leave that Blood Rock (I can’t buy them from the insight vendor for some reason)
Leveled my Shadow Priest to 120. I don’t hate the spec but I don’t think I’ll be playing it that much in the future. I felt that the damage I did to mobs was ok but I wasn’t fond of the short bursts of Voidform. (A bit of negativity but don’t know where else to put this).
Which would be more fun to level next, Warlock or Mage?
Onto a serious (kind of) answer; probably warlock? Depends on how much you like arcane mage and its 3 button set up before 60 (60 being where the other 2 specs get things)
Got Persona 5 Royal on a whim, instantly regretted it because I only finished it around last July and felt it was too soon to replay such a massive game without much changes til the end.
But when it arrived (in the nice steelbook case) I remembered just how much I actually loved it, and some of the tweaks (ammo resetting after battle!!) and new additions are keeping me nice and engaged. Very glad I got it now.
