How impossible finding arena healers seems to be
I… forgot to give Ludleth the transposing kiln before i went off to the kiln of the first flame on this character. I can’t transpose any boss souls.
God dammit!
EDIT: Oh well, another day’s worth of grinding to do on Dark Souls 3 I suppose.
I can explain that.
Healing in PvP is entirely different to healing for PvE, and is arguably one of the hardest roles in the game. It’s the one thing I simply cannot do.
It also doesn’t help when every time I feel like trying, I get told to kill myself by some scrub rogue that did nothing to help peel. DPS mains vastly underestimate the sheer amount of damage and CC thrown at you as a healer in PvP. Especially on a healer with no instant-cast selfheals like holydin, where you’re getting your **** kicked every time you try to cast anything and even bubble doesn’t seem to keep you alive for very long.
Combine difficulty with an incredibly unfriendly community and many people just don’t want to do it, me included. I gave it a fair shake on my paladin and got some of the most vile language hurled at me. In Skirmishes. WHERE I WAS TRYING TO LEARN.
This. Healing is much harder than DPS, and has much more responsibility.
First time I got 2k+ was in WoD, running double healer DK. I was new to ‘serious’ PvP but it didn’t matter because I could basically just run around and do my PvE rotation on people (which I was very comfortable with at this point) and slowly kill them while the healers did all the actual PvP-specific work like dispels and CC. It was kinda funny really.
I was talking about that just yesterday, actually. PvE folks have their own kinds of elitism, but the PvP side is purely and entirely made out of ‘I got gladiator in tbc on my nan’s third US account’ like some sort of ‘link cutting edge’ while forgetting the ‘link’ part. Saying you got Glad two expansions ago is like me saying I beat some other game on hardcore; WoW’s changed my dude, move on and git gud again if you want to brag (let’s not go into how dumb bragging is in the first place).
Healing has its own difficulties. Both roles have different things to look out for in arena, and I couldn’t really call it the hardest. People call tanking the easiest PvE spec, but every time I play a DPS/healer the tanks tend to be braindead [redacted]. Having done all roles in the game, I personally can’t objectively call either ‘easier’. It’s just different mentalities which don’t suit everyone.
hpala can go down the drain along with any kind of other [ret] paladin, though >:( hit the glowing button class fantasy much
In my experience healing is definitely easier, but it also varies between specs. Warrior and DK is easier than mage, for example. But mistweaver was harder than any DPS spec I’ve played.
Basically everything that needs to be said, honestly.
PvP might look like it has so much more to look out for, but I don’t think its true (and anyone who genuinely thinks that really hasn’t tried mythic raiding). In a competitive environment of any kind, you have to play your class to its maximum potential in order to reach success.
PvP just requires you to use your class’ toolkit much earlier than PvE content. It just falls down to the popularised blame game, making DPS think that they’re not making mistakes—when their CC and pressure is as important as the healer’s.
People who don’t put full stops in their sentences in roleplay. I get that you might have trouble with another language, but I don’t think there’s a single language using this alphabet that do not use these rules. Dumb.
My current peeve is that I am unable to actually grind reputation for factions. I can do the world quests everyday but nothing else. Basically Blizzard tells me exactly how much reputation I can get every single day.
It’s not as though there’s any content to do after the reps.
I’m just using Tongues for this…
Once I’m done with all the tedious busywork I can finally unclinch my jaw, breathe deep and finally focus on the roleplaying.
A niche peeve; I wish that I could permanently clean up the list of characters for undeletion. They serve no purpose and take up space. A druid I’ll never play again. A lowbie death knight I soured on. They’ll go untouched in the bin forever so why can’t I wipe them away?
This, so many… many low level death knights…
PvE pet peeve, Legionfall achievement not being account wide in BFA. The questline is similar for all classes yet you have to repeat it on every class you want to unlock class mount on… after completing Legion Order Hall campaign which on the other hand is unique for each class and worth completing. Since Legionfall itself doesn’t have to do anything with quests to obtain class mount (story wise), can’t we just skip that nonsense and go straight to class mount quests after completing Order Hall?
Minor general peeve: Wanting to tell someone you’re disappointed in them doing insert an issue simply to express it made you feel bothered/bad and you want to solve things, but it being interpreted as drama by the group which also were involved. Since when all expressions of negative emotion or even reasoned criticism became drama? You can’t talk things out and figure out solutions if you don’t first point out what could use improvement. However, pretending that we are 24/7 above our humane emotions is even worse than having your slightly negative feedback being seen as drama.
And btw, pineapple pizzas are great.
I have a twosided pet peeve.

People who mock child/teen rp’ers. I’ve RP’ed a teen for years. I do it damn well. She’s fun, realistic (not a superninja-badass-mofo-who-challenges-everyone-around-her-to-makgora), has a very limited skillset and in general bring a lot of nice atmosphere-RP to most settings by singing and playing a fiddle, allowing people to commission songs or have their characters feel better by giving a few coppers to the dirty lil fiddler girl.
-
People who give child/teen RP a bad name. Now apart from that one worgen kid who always hangs around the Cathedral I have never actually encountered one of these bdrp’ers of legend, but have been told that “all child rp’ers suck” because they are all superbadass generals/battlemages/demonspawn/cwookiemonsters. Having nary met one I thought it was hyperboles - until I encountered one last night.
If you want to RP a badass RP a badass. Don’t RP a teen. Teens aren’t badasses. Teens are pretty much a hindrance to all badassery. They’re awkward and dumb little knowitalls who in bad neighbourhoods might talk themselves into an asskicking but sure as shizzle don’t win fights against trained soldiers, demons and worgens. A large sewer rat, maybe. There’s no point to play a teen IF you don’t want to restrict your character’s skillset to what a teen actually can and cannot do.
One valuable thing about especially teen RPers is that the players still allow their characters to make mistakes no matter what they are aspiring to become. It’s fun to watch when someone boasts “I know my stuff” and fails utterly, makes them feel more humane and approachable than someone who is super experienced and comes off as nearly untouchable.
fight me, plebeian
On another note, gotta hate -10 weather. I was too late with changing my tires this year, so now I have no clue how to get to the mechanic now.
I did a few yesterday, and we got 15/4. 1 of those was a win against an hpala, the 3 losses were against a ret.
delete yourself already no one likes you
Child RP belongs to the incinerator, sorry.
I would rant about this, but I’ll get a sh!tshow of a response and I’m not interested in that rn.
On to an actual peeve; liquid/sloppy diets. Like, c’mon. I got another 6 weeks of this crap before I can taste a nice, freshly baked crusty cobble roll and a slab of bacon. My life is over. Fair thee well, gamers.
