Pet Peeve #INFINITY - Thanos gonna cry

I played through DS1 and 3 with Cheaoka. (Haven’t tried 2) He’s a veteran but I was new.

And man was I glad I didn’t play solo. I was aghast by how little damage I did. Without Chook by my side I would have fallen asleep on my keyboard before anything past Gundyr died, especially in the DLCs. It really feels meant for co-op.

Well, there’s 3 things that could be why;

a) not a good build (which could be anything from not upgrading weapon enough to not having good stats for it)
b) not doing the fight correctly (I’m thinking midir where you have to hit his head, makes that fight go way more quickly)

or

c) the enemies gain more health/defenses the more white phantoms you have in your world.

There’s a lot of dark souls stuff in here, should get it myself
and a controller

As Croecell is saying. Things should die anywhere between 1-5 hits, 7sh maybe for “elite” mobs.

by far better with one, DS on PS4/PS4 remote on the PC is much more enjoyable

Co-op in DS is generally putting the game on ‘easy’ mode. No shame in using it though. Dark Souls is intended to be beatable solo and without even leveling up, what with all these lv1 no upgrade runs people can do in DS1 at least. But I have admittedly done my first playthroughs of each with nearly full co-op phantoms start to end.

[SCREAMS CRAZILY]

It’s mainly the bosses. I remember the twin demon bosses in the DS3 DLC, where Chook died a few times, and each time he did I suicided because it was faster to wipe and resummon Chook and do it again than to take out their remaining health bar alone.

I played a knight with sword and shield by the way, switching to holding my longsword twohanded whenever it looked like it was safe to do so. It seemed to be the ‘main’ build and the one you start with so it seemed safest to stick with.

*ptsd flashbacks *

Every other DLC boss was an easy meme but holy h*ck those demons were a pain in the posterior. I was able to get through phase one decently but by then I’d run out of heals in phase two.

Still not as god-awful as Midir though.

I like Midir…

However Friede can kiss my bony @ss.

Easy and you get a very based scythe

Sure, if you’re a filthy dex user.

having said that, first time i beat her, i was a mage.

Also, apparently all 3 phases of hers has more health than Midir.

cries in sword+shield strengthboi

She has a lotta health but her daddy or whatever is a very easy target to lay into for some easy damage and she is way easier to dodge and generally avoid than Midir the (insert nasty censored word) that constantly covers the entire damn arena.

my only strength character is a spiked mace boi.

Which attack? i’ve actually done Midir no hit before, so i find them all dodge-able.

To me personally his dash moves always seemed to ghost-hit me, the flying spitfire always managed to have me on just the wrong side of him, and that laser, oof, don’t even talk to me about that laser beam of his.

:sunglasses: Friede naked+Yhorm’s Great Machete 2H*, no shield on my first try(kill)

I’m not kidding, I died so much that I got pissed and went full glass cannon just for her. Such a bad boss the first time you kill her, but then it turns into a love-hate relationship and you look forward to it. Midir is kinda fun as well, but only head-hitting strategy. Tail-dodging is such a pain.

How do you deal with the breath? I always have to pull out a shield for that. Everything else is ok though, lasers become predictable after a while @Tehya.

When I say I did him no hit, it was not what i was aiming for it like some pro, just the stars aligned and I didn’t take a hit.

Flying breathe attack? If you face him and as he starts it roll… left? if i remember correctly? it cones right and you don’t get hit at all.

if the one at the end of his combo when he breathes over his feet, I just sprint away from him.

Flying, yeah.

lol. I always roll right and give myself a moment of silence before chugging saltily. I’ll try left next time

I’m sure this has been said before, but when people put links in their OOC information section of their TRP. Unless there’s something I’m missing, that is.

You can iframe it to the right but it takes a lot of skill (that I don’t have) and rolling at the specific time.

But I’m left handed, rolling left is natural to me, in fact rolling left is how I meleed Friede to death.

where else do i gotta leave my f-list
