Pet Peeve: The Undying

It kind of is the center of draconic life, with the Wyrmrest temple and their respective Shrines. Had Illidan succeeded, a lot of the dragons would’ve been wiped out and thus the End Time—without their help to push back Deathwing and keep his forces at bay—would’ve truly happened.

Also, Yogg’Saron would’ve probably been irredeemably freed, as I don’t think small-brain mortals have the capacity to recreate a Titan prison facility or fight an Old God at full strength without a trump card.

And many more things, if we somehow got past the big two tied to Northrend. There are repercussions to such an act, and they are (in every case) severe.

Tahu Sagewind is the philosophical father of the Seers and Sunwalkers and his initial dialogue with Aponi Brightmane is very much rooted in druidic thought - it’s his experiences as a druid, and speaking with other druids (specifically night elves) that essentially catalyses the formation of the Seers and Sunwalkers.

So it seems a bit of a leap that they are suddenly wielding the Light; it’s like the druidic angle was discarded apropos of nothing. And even then, tauren druids and Seers and Sunwalkers all recognise the sun as An’she, so why do the petitions of the former one yield solar magic but the latter two yield the Light?

Yogg Saron already had control over the keepers at that time, so Ulduar pretty much effed before we even went there according to Chronicles. Although it is speculated that Illidan’s spell is what made Yogg Saron’s containment chamber even weaker thus getting his avatar out of it.

Nothing confirms that Wyrmrest temple alone would have been insanely destroyed… I mean could have been Zul’drak or Howling Fjord while the rest is spared.

The valued things in Northrend can be summed up as :
The Nexus in Boring Tundra, Scholazar Basin for the Titan facilities there, Wyrmrest Temple and the dragon sanctuaries around it (The rest is pretty easy to disregard.), Grizzly Hills because bias (Cool music, nice setting, Ursoc lore and Vordrassil.) and finally Ulduar.

Now wether one considers the Lich King’s destructions more dangerous than losing those will vary depending on people, but there is certainly a case that could be made (And I mean LK as an entity, not just Arthas/Ner’zhul.).

It’s not at all a leap, I’d say, because in his mindset he thinks An’she’s light is Nature magic, like the kind druids use, but what we are discussing here is meta-knowledge. Therefore it is not a leap that he’d migrate from a Druid to a Priest.

What they believe An’she is Solar magic, but that is a belief. They are, without their knowledge, gaining the blessing of the Light, instead. Like the Loa and the Trolls.

Evidence points to that they are seperate, and not both wielders of Solar magic. This is the same with Arakkoa. The lower caste use the Light, and the upper-class ones use Solar energy. They seem the same to these races, because the sun is a ball of light. Solar is light, and Light is light. It’s… confusing, though, I have to say that.

Besides being a druidic conversation, Tahu and Aponi were also just discussing how Tauren view things. Balance in everything. Moon-worship and sun-worship, not just necessarily using the druidic powers.

Just when I got in to the groove of running in the last three-four days, Nature decided to look down at me and say “Hah! I laugh at your feeble attempts of exercise!”, and brought down rain, bad weather and it feels like 7PM instead of 12PM.

Well it’s still early, so hopefully by the time of my usual headout comes, it’ll stop consistently raining and for the air to heat up a bit. Last few days were perfect for jogging, today it feels like a hoodie day.

That is not dedication.

Go out despite this, weakling!

I melt with the contact of rain!

Running in the rain is nice.

Actually, might not be such a bad idea to go for a jog when it’s raining

Thing I just don’t like though is that I can’t take my headphones with me to listen to Yakuza soundtracks while running. And I am not a big fan of earbuds as it’s essentially shoving little speakers in to your ears… Kinda uncomfortable.

Come to think of it, I don’t think we have any earbuds at all…

I think being outside with headphones look stupid.

It’s a leap because that migration is in no way justified IMO.

It’s not like he’s newly-discovering what he believes is An’she’s power but it’s actually the Light; as a druid he already, in his mindset, had a tangible spiritual connection to An’she and could wield his power. He already had a foundation to build the Seers (and Sunwalkers) on, but instead he discarded it and what he created instead now results in them wielding the Light (even though they believe it’s An’she’s light) - but I see no reason for that to have happened at all.

That’s my contention here: Tahu’s switch from wielding solar magic to the Light (regardless of what he believes it is) is completely arbitrary.

Wyrmrest Temple/Dragonshrines > right beneath Icecrown
Zul’Drak/Howling Fjord > the other side of the continent

I don’t think that the other side of the continent gets destroyed, but the thing next to what Illidan is targeting (Icecrown Glacier), doesn’t. Also inb4 Azeroth climate change & mass floods, glaciers melted.

I mean, yeah, sure we can play the speculation game of ‘yeah but we don’t know that it would happen’, but that’s exactly the point. There are so many world-ending catastrophes that could happen if the Lich King was destroyed before the events of WoW. That’s sorta the point Bronze dragons also make: just because it sounds good on paper (say, preventing the opening of the Dark Portal) doesn’t mean that the aftereffects will be either predictable, or good—and just about every time we see the alternate variants of our actions, they suck.

So making Illidan sound holy-and-just is massively incorrect—more like ignorant and reckless, which yeah, fits his character (and that is good).

Not a peeve but… spelling all the alliance races backwards can get you a forum ban.

The way in which people RP the upper class in-game is often something that irritates me quite a lot. I don’t wanna come across as the RP police of “you play X so you MUST be Y”, but when you claim your character is a member of the aristocracy, or of nobility, and they behave in violent, provocative manners while swearing like a sailor, I can’t help but sigh at it. Being in that aspect of society, IMO, means that you don’t just care about your money, but about your reputation, and behaving IC like that, to me at least, just breaks the whole deal.

But there the “mon” is part of something, not just used like “Ey how ya be doing mon?”.
Always felt like Zandalari have less of an accent, Talanji or Zul being good examples.
