I second this. Despite the occasionally silly aesthetics and some individually silly episodes, it’s worth seeing in full. It gives due respect to the mature themes it deals with (racism, colonialism, war and revolution, and their unintended consequences), and it has one of the best twist endings I’ve ever seen.
That scene is now ruined for me forever. I always assumed it was just Japan being Japan and giving the falcon punch insane scale.
I haven’t. Is it good? I heard it followed on from the movies (or, abridged summaries) which also changed some plotpoints re: a death or two, including a v. important one from S2.

It is the most wholesome and gayest (I mean the term literally because every character is Super Gay) series I have watched. Also it has a hedgehog character which is why I tuned in

Never played a Fire Emblem game but always liked the look of them. I’m not sure about Three Houses, but I need more cool games for my Switch and this looks tempting.

Fire Emblem is a turn based strategy RPG series (RPG chess) with a common focus on political turmoil and war along with giant evil shadow dragons. Most games are standalone or are part of a short ‘internal’ series (eg. FE9 and FE10 are directly linked).
Three Houses is a standalone game where you play as a merc-turned-teacher at what’s basically a military school, who aligns himself with one of three houses (Black Eagles, Blue Lions or Golden Deer) who represent each of the three nations on the continent of Fódlan. It’s not totally clear what the story is yet but at some point there’s a timeskip (5 years) and when you come back to it the entire world is embroiled in all out war against each other. Word is that it’s apparently going to be quite ‘dark’, so I’m expecting people to be dying left and right. Possibly at your hands.
It’s often compared to Advance Wars as a series but FE is more character driven and this one looks to be especially so.
