That’s probably because of your 4chan style posts.
It’s perfectly possible for someone to be against something but also not wish to buy into the hysteria surrounding it.
If somebody is doing something in-game that is against the terms of service, the most efficient and pragmatic approach is to either ignore that player and/or report them.
That’s all you have to say? Nice. Just blends in with my post.
Fictional character.
Your entire argument is based on “I don’t like a female fictional character insulted”.
If it was a person IRL ok, I would support your side but this is a fictional character.
I explained in detail how A) how people refer to fictional characters influences how they refer to real people and B) real women do hear you when you talk about fictional women but go off I guess
If people have (genuinely) misinterpreted you then you have represented yourself poorly. Communication 101.
But the issue isnt the character itself. The issue is that the language used is quite insulting to both see, and to use since it is commonly used in everyday life to particuarly insult women.
But your stance seem to be that as long as the target is fictional, you can use -any- language whatsoever, period. No restriction on anything. Which I disagree with it.
Yeah, I do interpret as defending, because if you aren’t, I don’t see the point of your argument other than arguing for the sake of it? If you aren’t defending it, if you aren’t condoning it, then why argue that people shouldn’t take offense etc?
Personally it seems like you do think it’s A-okay and support it, but just doesn’t wish to admit it outright, which I’d preffer over this vauge-semi support. It shows more courage atleast, even if it is a weird thing to support.
Ta ta clown. ? What happened to that?
is ‘no u’ really the only thing you have to say?
you fail at making an argument
you fail at trolling
you just
keep
failing
I don’t think there is much hysteria tbh. It was people litterally spamming vulgar, insulting things and some said they disagreed.
The only one who seemed to get geniuenly offended was you guys for people daring to not think it was a cool funny meme.
It’s a mark of a bad roleplayer tbh, tirades of cussing and insults that really jar with the setting.
Here is this medieval-styled fantasy world that has it’s own rich backstory, history and culture.
I’ll just make a character screaming modern days slurs.
Don’t think so, since I hear enough guys calling other guys a b-word etc.
Also yes, I do agree to disagree. If it’s fictional then you can say whatever. As long as that does not blend into real life things such as voice actors, actors in general and so forth. An issue similar to this happened to the PPG remake where the voice actors were harassed for the questionable work of the studio. That is by no means acceptable.
Unfortunate. My point was to tell that it’s a fictional character. That’s all. What people did with it was nothing of my starting interpretation. And why argue that people shouldn’t take offense? Because it’s ridicilous to take offense for something that doesn’t affect you as a person like being a male and taking offensive for females.
Don’t care for this since that is again misinterpretation. Ask instead of interpretate wrongly.
ta ta clown.
Er, what do you mean by ‘you guys’? I’m not offended, I’m just baffled. I’ve questioned many times throughout the recent debate as to whether or not the culprits have been reported only to receive no answer for some reason.
It never needed to go beyond that. If someone does something in-game that is in poor taste or just genuinely against the terms of service then it can be reported and people can move on with their lives afterwards.
It’s what I’d do if I happened to see someone making inappropriate comments.
Yeah! What do we think this is, a discussion forum?
I don’t mind if people want to write slurs about other characters and/or lore figures, so long as they fit the narrative/are context bound.
That being said, just like with everything else, too much and it gets really old real soon.
It’s not an appropriate subject to discuss here, given that it revolves around social and political issues. Quite heavy, heated subjects that most people are not going to discuss without a significant amount of bias or mud-slinging on both sides.
We do that all the time here.
Not too long ago I spoke about the conviction of the infamous count dankula and ridiculed the british common law system and arbitrary nature of judgement that’d never passed in any self respecting civil law country- And I didn’t have a problem to call out people who thought it was ok out for it. Nor did other people have problem calling me out.
Just take it.
We’re talking about these issues and how they relate to the game and the role-play that takes place within. Seems very appropriate and relevant to me. Especially in a thread about peeves.
Even Ronald McDonald agrees that slurs aren’t acceptable, my dude - this is hardly an economic debate
(also everything is inherently political and saying ‘no talking about politics’ is a declaration of privilege but you are really not ready for that)
As observed, it was alot more than that world. And it is still primarily issued at women.
And I disagree as I said, then we both know where we stand. Which is fine.
So you are saying that it’s fine for women then to take offense if it affects them? Good, then I do take offense since I am and I have had those words thrown at me before, as do many others that I both know personally and just know in general.
I partially disagree, since I think it’s good to have discussions to get rid of the culture promoting this to happen in the first place. Wouldnt it be much better if there wasnt a need to report it since it wouldnt happen at all? I think so.
“don’t constantly spam misogyny in a game for ages 12 and up” isn’t really a unique or hysteric stance amigo. It might just seem like hysteria to you and vahas because I guess it’s something u 2 like to do and you feel personally attacked by the notion that it’s kinda weird??
