Pet Peeve: The Undying

Oh I don’t listen to the music.

Since BFA released, the only wow music that I’ve liked is this:

I have it on repeat as I go through the Ruins of Zin’Azshari on my Nightborne, Blood Elf and/or Night Elf characters.

I like various themes from in Battle for Daza’alor. Especially ones with the flute in.

Frowns angrily
Comments like this make me wish the dislike button was still a thing!

Sure it’s melancholic but it fits very well! Very immersive, you can almost hear “No one, deserves dis fate.” in the back of your mind.

It’s boring. Boring.
I’d rather have something like the music from The Burn in FFXIV.

I will fite you on this!

Elsweyr is great, but the story is like a continuation of the original main quest and also the Aldmeri Dominion questline, so you’d be missing out.
At the very least make sure you finish the original main questline before starting it (you can just power through it, there’s no level restrictions anymore).

Also if you play EU, hit me up in game, my man.
My tag is @em5o

I fear no Cuddlefish.

Elder Scrolls Elsweyr more like Elder Balls Smellsweyr <o/

This, and Summerset is a sequel to the Clockwork City DLC which in turn is a sequel to the Morrowind expansion and that’s kind of a sequel to Orsinium which in turn is a direct sequel to the main story.

Basically finish the main story.

Every time I think “Man, I do like ESO, kinda, sorta, I should get back into the story” I hit that wall, sigh, and just cash in the daily login rewards instead.

I mean, I like playing my quasi-fascist High Elf enforcing THE LAW with magical golden spears well enough, but something about the story questing just draws me out of it. I honestly have no idea what it is.

Also: I’ve heard nobody actually roleplays on the EU server except Germans. Is that true?

First of all, Dominion, ew. Your leader is canonically illegitimate.

Secondly it depends a lot on the actual zones you’re doing. With One Tamriel you can do any zone in any order, so you’re not forced to do your own faction’s story if you don’t care for it. Personally the Dominion story had good side quests, but the main story was very forgettable.

Meanwhile I personally think the Covenant had the best main story. Emeric’s a powerful ruler, there’s a reason why bretons consistently through out the eras are responsible for forging the most prosperous realm in Tamriel. Even under the Second Empire which at this point in the timeline where ESO takes place is the Golden era, High Rock was the most prosperous realm. And in Third Era, it’s a Breton Emperor who forges the unprecedented golden era of prosperity for all of Tamriel.

Tiber Septim was canonically a breton, don’t @ me, the lore checks out and I will literally fight about it

Also Covenant main story involves Darien Gautier, our boy :sob:

Not true. Due to the sharding introduced by One Tamriel, pick up RP is hard to come by because nobody’s in the same phase anymore. That’s not to say that RP is dead; you just need to know how to arrange it. For that there are large community guilds. Being in the same group will force you into the same shard, no matter what.

There’s also a big Worm Cult 2.0 storyline going on in the background. It’s pretty hush-hush IC atm so that the Worm Cult guild doesn’t know about the plans until it’s too late, but it’s been pretty fun playing the spy games to recruit people to assemble the cast of the Avengers.

She doesn’t need legitimacy, she is Muh Queen! I have enjoyed the Dominion story so far, it’s actually the Covenant I found the least compelling - those damn, dirty Orcs need to be purged from RIGHTFUL Breton lands, not allied with! - but overall there’s no one story that’s been like “Oh this is just terrible, I can’t play this”.

It’s more that there’s just so much stuff going on in the world with new DLC expansions every couple months. I know for a mostly-F2P MMO that’s just whatcha do (Hello, STO) but it’s just daunting.

It’s good to know there’s RP going on at least, if I lose interest in WoW again I might peek into it. Or Star Trek Online again, though the Discovery stuff is… ehhhh…

You get the DLCs for free while you’re subscribed, and as of the latest(?) update, you also get all expansions up to Summerset while you’re subscribed too.

Tell that to the Altmer who are obsessed with legitimacy and bloodlines

You fell for one of the classic blunders. You see Emeric, when he was fighting a civil war after the King of Rivenspire turned on him, told the orcs to stop raiding his :poop: and instead raid King Ranser’s :poop: and maybe Emeric will let them retake Orsinium.

With one move he secured his own supply lines while destroying his enemy’s, made peace with the orcs and got new soldiers for his army and all he had to do was not occupy some land nobody wanted to occupy anyway. And by not occupying Wrothgar and letting the orcs rebuild Orsinium and thus uniting the orcs under the guy he made the original deal with*, he gets even more soldiers for his army in the faction war. Turns out orcs make excellent frontline troopers.

Emeric’s playing 48D chess while Ayrenn’s playing out a weird bootleg Riverdale fanfic. Nobody knows what the heck Jorunn is doing.

*Orsinium spoilers

Kurog’s dead after his own civil war, but the new orc king says at the end of the storyline that he sees no reason not to sign the peace treaty Kurog had with Emeric, since by all accounts the demilitarization of Wrothgar benefited both sides.

I expect this.

That doesn’t sound like a desert, it sounds like an anime adventure.

Deserts are harsh, barren, places where barely anything lives because barely anything can. You need the music to reflect the isolation of the desert, and Vol’dun does that beautifully.
