Pet Peeve: The Undying

Boring music is boring. I want to hear something enjoyable. I hate the music in Vol’dun.

Well it doesn’t. But okay.

I think you need to stop sucking the vulpera peen so hard hun.

But it does, it sound like every Anime Adventure song ever.

I think you need to stop giving behind-the-bike-shed Head to Final Fantasy

You don’t get to tell me where to give head, or have the right to dictate whom I give it to!
You sound just like my mum.

I’m obviously better than your mom, since no son of mine would play Final Fantasy.

Your children will be shunned losers then. And they’ll probably look like one of those freaks from FFXV.

Oi, are you two being nice to each other?

No, Akamito is my favourite Tauren now, at least he won’t come up with preposterous opinions like Anime Music being suitable for a desert.

Yeah, go brown nose Aka.
I don’t want losers like you supporting me with wrongness.
Boo. Boo indeed…

P.S I love you.
It’s a bad movie, but how I feel.

With Wrathion making that whisper silencing potion, how long will it be before Velves get their hands on it, and just turn into draenei coloured blood elves?

It’s 7am. Someone in the building is playing with a hammer.

Well it’s made by Square-Enix… it would be like saying S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a grim post-Soviet horror and societal analogue… because it is.

Not really an argument for or against it, just a factual statement.
That said it has far more depth in half the time its been around compared to WoW so, and for an Eastern MMO (which it is, by definition) is remarkable.

The Burn as Distantpeak linked is a literal desert, the land is lifeless and drained of all natural life. It’s basically a magic dead desert. So the music does well at representing a completely desolate, hopeless land that can never be restored.

Honestly I’ve been finding FF14’s soundtrack to compete just as well, if not even better in places than WoW’s own music which while very bombastic and very pulpy (as you’d expect for WoW, which is good) WoW lacks strong ambient, thematic or even leitmotif based music.

Also FF14 does well at avoiding the common mistakes of its cousins in other instalments which is the (now cliché) use of OMINOUS LATIN CHOIR. It has a grand total of three soundtracks with Latin in them (and one of them is literally for an antagonist in the original iteration of the game.)

I find WoWs lack of genuine boss music really annoying for some reason.

Last time I did a raid in BfA I noticed the music would amount to a minute long tune that plays when you go to a new area, then… That’s it. Besides SFX I fought Mekatorque in complete silence. No music was playing and I had it set to loop. Same with Jaina, there was a neat track at the start but it’s an extremely subtle tune I barely noticed, then it just stopped.

It’s a shame because when they do boss tunes properly they can do some great ones. The Argus boss theme for example is top notch complete with phase transitions as the fight goes on.

Or you listen to Sabaton during bosses and win.

Even then in encounters for WoW where there is good music (Deathwing, Gunship Battle, Lei Shen) it gets blown out of the water by the likes of Revenge of the Horde, Thordan’s Reign and (unironically) Fiend.

They do a much better job at setting the tone for the boss encounter. Hell even the standard dungeon boss music works exceedingly better in FF14.

The last piece of boss music I even remember (and quite like) was from Ulduar.

As long as its not Titania’s boss music, I’m happy.

Hmm, the WC3 VA thing is a shame. Hearing another Arthas is going to feel weird.

Guess we’ll see how it turns out.

My proposal for the new Voldun music

Can we use the old voices in WC3 Reforged or are we stuck with the new variants?

They will change the dialogue to fit the new lore changes made over the years and replacing all of the Voice Actors, primarily they will use the WoW VA’s for characters that show up in the game, like Jaina, Arthas etc.
