Pet Peeve: Wrath

Peeve: I feel like I am becoming more… I am not sure elitist is the right word? Isolationist? Or just thin-skinned?

The idea of going back to my old days of hanging out in RP hubs and interacting with random people is getting less and less tempting. On a great many characters I encounter, I find something I disagree with (or something that is objectively terrible) and then I just lose all desire to interact with that character. I RP almost solely with my guild nowadays, a heavily curated experience, and while I sometimes chafe at it being so small and restrictive I always feel loath to seek encounters elsewhere for fear of what I might find.

I feel it.

I usually end up doing big loops of hubs in an attempt to find RP that I’ll enjoy, but end up interacting with very few people because their profiles are empty, full of red flags, or they just don’t interest me. I usually end up logging off, and either playing a different game, or levelling an alt after that.

I end up wondering if I just have very specific and niche tastes in what I consider good or enjoyable to RP with (which… I absolutely do, honestly, from guild composition to racial themes), or if I just lack the motivation to seek out or create an environment that appeals to me.

Things it do be like: that, I guess.

Really bad weather these days. Rain, rain, rain. And it’s going to last until Monday. /groan

just got myself AC: Origins and Odyssey for very cheap on the EPIC Games Store
sale’s on until 11th june, brothers.

Isn’t that a pet delight though?

To many, it’s a peeve

Other than that, my workplace is still stuck in eternal limbo. We don’t know when we’ll get back to work or if we ever will. Our work contract expires for late September - Early October and we wondered if we’d get an extension since… Yeah we haven’t worked in almost 3 months by now.

I’m not really complaining since I’m getting paid to do jack all but yeah… Weird limbo.

I feel a bit sorry for guard rpers in Stormwind sometimes. Every blatant criminal running about seems to be a master of some sort of void or shadow magic on the side. Where’s the academy of criminal arts where they all seem to learn this stuff?

That seems to contradict itself! If your character is a master or very experienced at some magic school, they should be dedicated to it instead of just effortlessly mastering it as a side thing in their spare time! That’s my peeve now.

My peeve is this awful weather, the sunlight burns my eyes and my living room is slowly becoming a furnace cause the sun shines all over it when it is at its zenith.

Can’t wait for the 40+ degrees again during the summer and a cool 33+ degrees in my room.

At least, should I RP in Shadowforge (or the areas around it), I will feel immersed.

OCH Laddie! Yer Dark Iron!

One of my groups took a hobgoblin, an advance scout for an impending invasion, captive. Immediately after waking up, I had the hob agree to give them all the information he had in exchange for being set free and allowed to leave unharmed and this decision has paralyzed the group. The kicker is that the info they’re gonna get won’t even be that much more than what they already knew from looting the notes.

Moral quandaries are a lot easier if you just kill everyone and don’t take captives.

Do they finally have a shopping cart?

I haven’t encountered void-criminals yet even though they do exist, but my peeve with the crime guys that one time Desartin acted since there was no guard in sight is how they keep starting trouble. Below follows short summary of the encounter:

Criminals are brawling. Desartin after a bit subdues them with help

  • One criminal decides to get a last shot in.*
    “Alright calm down now.”
Again a criminal tries to get a last hit in after things were calmed down
    “Jesus not this again.”
For a third time after things had quieted down, a criminal seeks to start trouble by getting a last hit in.
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD MAN?!

I had to see this video and now so do you. You’re not the only one cursed with knowledge.

  • In World of Warcraft: Shadowlands , a substance also known as anima permeates the death realms. This is not to be confused with the Mists of Pandaria anima, which is condensed life energy, whereas Shadowlands anima is death energy.

Creativity? What is that?

Do you have something you need to tell us, Blizz?

Tbh the jungian terms have nothing in common with Blizz’s concepts aside from the root. “anima” is a latin term that stands for “soul”, and in-game anima is basically some sort of soul energy.

SL’s version of anima is basically a cheap “energy/resource” concept (whereas in Jung the Anima is an archetype of the unconscious) and while it’s low-effort for now, I actually like it. You can work around that in an interesting way. The lore hasn’t been so charming since MoP.
