Pet Peeve: Wrath

I have this problem where I start off with the intention of going for one culture, but then I’ll encounter a few units or armour pieces of another culture and get tempted to change. Currently doing a Sturgian playthrough, but I’m not sure their armour has been fully implemented yet, because I can’t find shoulder or high tier torso pieces. :frowning:

Brave words for one with less than 7 movement speed.

The Sturgians are probably my favourite team in aesthetic and concept, but I don’t like their units very much. Ulfhednars are strong as hell, but also they wear no armour because they’re big idiots.

I also see that you’ve got 1 more hour played than me… 71 vs 72.

I’m a bit sad they decided to make the Sturgians a mixture of the Vaegirs and Nords, as - samey though it might have been to Warband - I’d much rather have a fully Norse-themed faction. As for ulfhednars, I like to RP they’re a rarity, so I only ever train one or two for my army, while the rest become shock troopers or… whatever the alternative option was.

Casual.

I wanted my whole infantry to be Ulfhednars because I thought it would be funny.

In the end, I started trading my units out for Druzhinniks, because I was going for some raider roleplay.

Maybe I’ll just give Empire a proper bash this time…

I’m actually playing as a Sturgian who joined the Empire, going for a sort of Varangian theme, I suppose (and besides, Sturgia was pretty much dead by the time I could join a faction). Made the mistake of giving my liege the dragon banner, though, so now we’ve ended up at war with all other factions bar the Aserai as a result. :S

I’ve done that too, except I changed it up by joining the Vlandians instead, who were in the middle of conquering Sturgia.

I might play an Aserai who’s joined the Empire, giving me the option to use Aserai troops and Imperial troops. Aserai Master Archers and Imperial Legionaries perhaps.

Should prove a fun challenge, too. I’ve yet to see Aserai do well, besides sniping a town every now and then from a faction busy at war with other factions.

The only problem with the Aserai is that their armour looks a bit dumb the moment you join the Empire. It all turns into a faded pink, not that cool imperial purple.

The forced colour change is a bit unfortunate, but boy if it doesn’t make playing without overhead banners a whole lot more viable.

I’m also waiting on mods to make male characters look less terrible. I’ve been playing females only, because the men look like they’ve hit every branch on their way down the ugly tree.

Can’t say I mind either too much. The eyes, though… Everyone has crazy eyes!

Calradia is a crazy place, man

new pet peeve is that it’s ridiculous that wow still doesn’t have names for months

It does though. They’ve got our month names.

"As for the “Jade Witch Guild Name Here” issue itself, we Game Masters and Forum Admins aren’t equipped to deal with evidence outside the game or with matters that are potential legal matters.

Got this back from a support ticket today after a week’s worth of waiting.

Seems those in authority aren’t equipped to take action or preventative measures to protect minors.

Very good. There’s also Antonidas’ journal mentioning october https://wow.gamepedia.com/Journal_of_Archmage_Antonidas

Also, WoW does use ‘earth’ day names as well.

Ah, I’ve heard people use them IC but was never sure if it was accurate.

Good to have confirmation, but I also think it’s terribly lazy on Blizzard’s part.

On the one hand I kind of agree, but the little picture Lintian posted is accurate. I don’t remember the names of the TES days/months, they’re just numbers to me, so why not make it the ‘earth’ months?

The ‘realistic’ alternative is to have things like 22 hour days, 4 day weeks, 13 week months and 17 month years (each year also comprises two full seasonal rotations) where it’s completely alien but…players are just going to find that confusing and annoying, you know?

Guild Wars 2 did that. I can’t say I remember any of those, and it was a pain in the rear when people used those for event dates without also giving the real life equivalent. Thank you Machin, but trying to remember a new calendar is not particularly helping my immersion, nor is it amusing me when I just want to know if I’m available that evening or not for RP.
