I suppose it might be because while he died in the AU, he was born in MU and so his soul or whatever is bound to the correct Shadowlands?
Can someone explain why Maiev’s card in hearthstone says “I am the iron hand of the wastes” as her sound when played 'cos I do not get it.
Sounds like a mistake was made when they recorded her lines. She says ‘I am the iron hand of justice’ both in Warcraft III and Heroes of the Storm.

I think it’s a deliberate choice because of the theme of the expansion.
See that makes sense but Maiev’s never really identified herself as representing Outland so it just kinda confuses me.

In Warcraft 3 Warden hero says that to be exact, but yeah probably a bad mistake

You’re right. Weirdly, Maiev says ‘I am the hand of justice’ in Warcraft III, with ‘iron’ left out.

Iron Hand of Justice is something cool though, weird they didn’t use it in her hearthstone card. I personally use that as a title for my Warden character.

I have to say, I also find it a bit meh when they mix heroes and cards together. Like Maiev is already a rogue hero, did she need to be a card as well?

It’s a bit odd when they retired the Illidan legendary after he became a hero. Then again, Maiev is alt skin and not the only alt skin to have a card as well. See: Sylvanas, Khadgar and Liadrin, for example.

The best Alt skin in the game is Nemsy btw, and yeah thats a fair point!
But its also a very publically wide alt skin to the point I see more Maiev’s than Valeera’s.
They just up and removed a card from the game? Really?

Reskinned, actually. It’s Xavius now. He has the same effect but summons demons instead of elementals.

Was this for Ashes of Outland, or was this in the re-skin of the other cards like dressing up/cleaning up all of the succubi cards and/or replacing them with other demons etc.
This was for Ashes of Outland because Illidan became a basic hero.

Weird that they didnt do that for the other cards though that had heroes or vice versa!
Blizzard scanning the AD forums to find new ideas for expansions for their games.
I think only basic heroes are treated as special.
