KOTOR 1 is your traditional hero’s journey, good vs evil.
KOTOR 2 is the ugly aftermath of that war. The heroes didn’t live happily ever after.

I find that most of the original party in KOTOR was quite bland, like Mission, Juhani, Zaalbar etc. Even Carth to a degree. In KOTOR 2 everybody is interesting, even the droids.
Well maybe not the Disciple so much. Handmaiden though
Appreciate all the replies, all noted. Thanks!
Even though im barely in, I disslike Carth the most of my little crew. He was so dramatic on Taris.
“Hey Carth, can I ask you something basic?”
“MY LIFE IS MISERY AND I DONT TRUST YOU. YOU’RE PROBABLY THE DARK SIDE INCARNATE IN DISGUISE REEE!”
“Okay, chill…”
Brianna/Visas or Atton/Mical trying trying to murder each other in the dark side ending with RCM on
I really like that dynamic a lot where you have to be careful which party members you pair together for some situations, because certain dialogue options can tank another party member’s approval while really boost another if they’re in the party at the same time.
Bao-Dur is an especially tricky one because he has exactly 3 influence gain options in the entire game, and all of them are blink and you’ll miss it scenarios.
Darth Sion did nothing wrong!
Agreed. The only occasion where that was particularly annoying was with Kreia, as she’s basically never pleased neither with pure Light or Dark side decisions. I did really like the beggar moment in Nar Shaddaa though. It really shocked me the first time in my LS playthrough as even though she nagged she was right. Altruism isn’t always the solution.
Only a Jedi deal in absolutes.
I like Darth Thanaton in SWTOR. He might come across as a little single-minded but I do like how insistent he is about ‘tradition’ and ‘rules’ (until he becomes a hypocrite)
Y’all here talking about SWTOR and I can’t even get my account unsuspended because I hadn’t played for years and it probably got hacked and suspended afterwards when it wasn’t even my fault
And customor support is slow af with responding… and i mean, I wasn’t very far, I could probably try make a new account but then id have to make a new email adress too …
oh you done did it now.
I honestly find many of the original characters in SWTOR terrible compared to their predecessors. Even the Emperor that was first teased in KOTOR 2 was basically just a Palpatine knockoff. The only characters that were good are Scourge, Malgus and Arcann.
We need more Jedi/Sith nuance beyond ‘goodies and baddies’ - the conflict is between order vs freedom, where absolutes in both directions are devastating.
One of my favourite SWTOR quotes ever is when one of the Jedi characters says ‘the Jedi stand for peace - not freedom.’ That gets me right in the nuance.
Similarly, a light-side Sith Warrior (who keeps his word and doesn’t randomly murder people with no reason) is also a great storyline.
I liked Thanaton alot too. Up until the very end when he becomes the whiny cry-baby, he was legitimatly interesting and you could kinda reason with him.
Baras was cool too, and Jadus was quite terrifying simply due to his presence and how it affected those around him.
I didnt care much for the BH Darth in chapter 3, nor Zash.
Jadus was my favourite. Especially because he can zap you to death in a cutscene.
Sith drool, Empire rules!
I’ve had to contact swtor’s/EA support once for a bugged quest, took nearly 4 weeks. Slowest support for a game I’ve experienced.
Thankfully they did skip me past the bugged bit though.
coffin dance intensifies
Well I guess I better not get my hopes up too much then. Ohwell, untill then I’ll have fun by replaying Star Wars: Empire at War and Forces of Corruption. Must say the latter was quite fun to play as Space Pirates for a change instead of Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire.
Im not sure if it’s the same now, but back when I was active on swtor, I heard from several guildies that their support is -really- hands-off with suspensions, due to EA. Basically, if you get suspended, that’s it. Nearly all of their suspensions are permament, no matter the situation, and very little in terms of appeal process.
But you can still try!
The ideal Inquisitor in SWTOR is neither light or dark, but a pragmatist. Doing whatever yields the best long term outcome based on the information you have at hand. I murdered that officer’s son on Balmorra(?) who was being an entitled turd who jeopardized the mission just because he’s a sith (and I’m a Sith Lord). His father tried to murder me for it. His father’s new replacement is an actual competent person and turns out to be a good ally.
Murdering them was the dark side choice, but I rooted out nepotism and installed competent officers in their place which paid off in the long run.
I also played liberator in Corellia instead of a conqueror, which ended with those who disagreed with my new rule the new Prime MInister’s rule as being the unreasonable ones. I showed mercy to those who deserved it, therefore those that weren’t shown mercy must have also deserved the punishment. I didn’t publicly execute the dissenters, but instead punished them appropriately.
It’s the “light side” conquest, but all I really did was paint the Empire as the liberators and incentivize the population to govern themselves and root out dissenters, knowing that Darth Nox can grant mercy if you come clean. Any rebels are therefore enemies of the public, not just enemies of the government.
