Pet Peeve: Wrath

I declare AD to be an anarcho-syndicalist server from here on out

I am sorta undecided, I like part of both ancom and just straight up marxism(-leninism?).

I think it depends on what the world looks like after we’ve first gotten socialism in place. Maybe that’s enough, maybe not.

They really come in six hours later and closed the thread claiming it had been derailed when it’d remained probably one of the most on topic threads the forum has seen in forever (the only actual derailment was weird burger chat that got immediately shut down)… is this what a gas-lighting feels like?
At least they spared my genuine effort posts, I suppose.

Oh, the Burger chat was the weirdest thing about that thread. Consider yourself invited just so I can now un-invite you to any Burger BBQ I do, especially my Birthday!

The nerve of some people, Food Critics who have no taste it’s name is in french.

Low effort post.

It’s now been what, six or seven weeks since the lockdown started? My company has still not provided concrete information for the people that were booked to come to us about what happens now.

Everyday my inbox fills with people demanding updates and lamenting how a once very highly reputable and customer service driven organisation is effectively ignoring them. And I’m the only one left to deal with these emails, everyone else still on staff that hasn’t been furloughed is upper management.

It’s getting real tiresome.

Yes. Was quite surprised to read the reasonings for the close on that bonkers brothel thread.
Did they… did they listen?

There is this old Finnish series about a senior police officer Reinikainen and his adventures in his commune. During one of his encounters he comes across a hostage situation where a radicalized, unemployed man has taken hostages of various political figures, and threathens to shoot them if he is not granted employement.

He is offered various high end management positions ranging from banker to a CEO of a liquor business and alike by the politicians, but when he instead asks if he could get a position as a train driver, the politicians say that it wont be possible to get that because that is a position that requires actual certified skills to perform.

The show is some +30 years old but I think that quip is a good, timeless jab about the nepotism, favours and lack of any concrete skills that make them so much valuable than others.

Unsure if it is so much about “hard” work as it is " a lot " of work, quantity being important thing here in terms of time spent. Most CEO’s can and do have insane weekly working hours clocked in (though they dont need to clock in, lol), because thats how their work is…24/7 availability, travelling, attending a meeting here or there, keeping an eye on the whole business as whole, and mixing personal life with work life.

Yes, they work a lot but if that work is basically calling a “friend” over to golf to seal some agreements or occasionally peeking your head in management meetings to make sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to, does that qualify as “hard” work? Not really- Which begs the question that based on what should we value the price of someone’s salary? Demand seems to be the thing as it is, unsure what to replace it with.

I personally would probably be pooped in that job because I cba meeting with people all the time.

Perhaps he should consider delegating responsibility

Say, by divesting his hold on private property

To his workers collectively

I say “Eat the rich” isn’t enough anymore. Eat everyone. Let’s just go full cannibal. That’s how we get everything back on track.

The world transforms into a society ruled by size, with people not much unlike jabba the hutt ruling every major business or government

I suspect we’d die of kuru well before we built a society of any particular kind, gamers
