Maybe there shouldn’t be any more pet peeve threads.
To be fair that sounds like a better Idea. Peeve is basically just a disguised General Thread.
Pretty much.
That’s not what I have said, however. I have simply said that I receive a “the world is black and white” input from your posts - and I think the world isn’t black and white.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. If you want to improve people’s lives I think the best approach is to focus on realistical changes rather than creating great narratives about how the upper class is evil, exploiting everyone, and how things would go in a different way if we were to establish a marxist utopia.
I did say I think we should focus on socialism for now. I am not even sure if marxism is even necessary - we can look at that once we have thoroughly gotten rid of capitalism.
Put out the burning house before you decide whether you need a new TV, and all that.
I imagine that a lot of people agree that billionaires subjecting their minimum workers to deplorable conditions simply to amass more billions even though they already have more than they could possibly spend is pretty evil, and certainly that it’s exploitative.
Don’t think we need hot takes from the racist dragon, thanks
Wait, is this guy a dragon too? I thought him looking similar was a coincidence.
I agree that sometimes having left-leaning reforms is helpful. I don’t think a socialist government, however, would do well in the long-run. How do you think that such a system would improve things? It’s a genuine question, I am not sarcastic, I want to understand where you come from.
The issue is that either you give people the ownership of what they produce, and you’ll end up having inequalities as some people will perform better than others (much like in our society), or alternatively you will end up having a government that regulates jobs, and that means punishing people for being talented and performing better than others - which means you’d end up having a hierarchy and a totalitarian government, yet another system that is known to produce even more inequality.
It’s ‘not into management’ athramus in the flesh
You can tell by the meandering nonsense and the transmog
It’s your mentality that keeps you from being able to afford a porsche, dummy
It’s certainly an interesting question, I think that it’s reasonable to argue that certain very difficult or undesireable jobs should come with rewards.
In present day society terms, I could see a society where a doctor makes half again as much as cashier. Hell, you could possibly argue that they should make twice or even an absurd three times (!) as much, and it’s within the realm of things that can be reasonably debated.
The issue is the present world where that value is 10000x instead, for the top vs bottom jobs.
(Or look at Amazon where the bottom feeders maybe make 10$ per hour where the top dog makes 4.5 million)
Well, that’s good to know. Feels like I am kinda repeating old debates that have already been ran to their conclusion, with that in mind…
Aren’t you excited for paragraphs of text that nobody has any interest in reading, in the hope that he says something overtly racist again to finally gain some measure of entertainment
But the reasons behind it, as I said, are nuanced. Consider a scenario where the government pushes people down and prevents them from performing too well. We’re speaking of a government which would regulate the market, imposing strict prices and making sure people don’t perform too well.
Most likely, we’d have black markets of sort. And as people are more inclined to act against a hierarchy that punishes people’s talents, the system has to give a lot of power to the local authorities. While they aren’t rich, these policemen people will end up having more power over you (if you were to live in such a place) than a billionaire like Zuckerberg does right now. So you’d have even more shades of abuses.
May I suggest the reading of Sartre’s Les mains sales? It is a short book that might give you a different outlook on what I am saying.
Yes, yes. Because anything that offends you is racist. These type of accusations are just the typical internet meme “he said something I disagree with so he’s a bigot”.
Oh yeah, in case I forgot to mention, ACAB.
Vexiona is pretty challenging to pug, and so is Il’gynoth. I have had more success doing Carapace and N’zoth than those two.
Always nice to see a fellow All Cats Are Beautiful enthusiast
No, I’m not excited to read anything from these two, because they’re both going to get the thread closed needlessly.
Boy have i got one for you!

This kitty made it to 29 years old (not mine)
Dies from cringe
And yet here we are, waiting for a topper to ‘not into management’
