Pet peeves: The return (Part 1)

File off the serial numbers and publish it like how that twilight fanfic became fifty shades of oh god no. You’ll be moderately wealthy!

Okay you two are going to have to enlighten me, what exactly happened there? Fifty shades of oh god no actually started out as a twilight fanfic?

It was literally modern AU twilight fanfic yeah

the author’s name was, and I wish I wasn’t directly quoting, SnowQueen IceDragon

the author of 50 shades admitted to it being a Twilighrt fanfic.

Holy cow it’s true.

At any rate, I was inspired to try my own hand at a cross-over, after seeing Geralt turn up in Monster Hunter World, and I know they also dragged him to Soul Calibur, so I figured “Hey, I can try that too.” So now I am writing about my DK getting sent to the Witcher’s world and trying to find a way back home, set after the ending of the games.

Yup, I just read it on wikipedia after Starshade’s post!

shilling for my main man dan and his excellent run through of the problems with the movies (and the books, though that’s less of a focus)

It’s not super unheard of, there’s a few fanfiction-with-serial-numbers-filed-off-turned-fiction movies now. After (2019) was originally a onedirection fanfic on wattpad.

Well, as said, change some names, change how some things work and publish it!

I will keep it in mind! Even if I haven’t the faintest idea about publishing stuff and all. And it’ll be a while until it’s finished.

One hill I will fight and die on, everyone going into a position of authority should have to read Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, particularly the Sam Vimes books.

Night Watch springs to mind instantly; the point of the law is, by and large, to encourage people to stay within the moral boundaries of the law. Not have so many regulations and rulings that take lawful people and force them into being lawbreakers.

The mount restriction in the maw is pissing me off at this point. I don’t go in there long enough to justify farming that dog boss who drops the maw mount, but I have to go there every now and then just enough to peeve me regarding this restriction.

Druids are Worgen in this expansion though :dagger: :dagger::dagger: them all.

No person should be in a position where their money makes money for them and they deludedly think they’re working hard and earning anything, berating others for not working.

We also need to look into the value of labour in post-industrial automation economy but most people seem to insist on reconstituting feudalism over any constructive solution.

Look if I could carry you on my back in the Maw I would.

These quests for the lunar festival crowns to be perma are a pain.

As an actual engineer, I should be legally allowed to throat-punch all the people fawning of Elon Musk like he’s some kind of savant, rather than the egotistical, opinionated little memeing tech-bro that he actually is. He’s obnoxious, rich and obnoxiously rich. That is literally his CV.

“But he invented the-!”
He didn’t ‘invent’ jaaaaaaccckk, he paid a lot of actually clever people to do all the hard work and then took the creeedddiiiiiitttt. Get in the seeeeaaaaa!
