I like her writing. She’s not always at the top of her game, but when she is? I enjoy it quite a bit.
Yeah, i think I’d take Golden out of that choice.
Although, she needs to stop pushing for Calia as the leader of the forsaken. That idea needs to be canned pronto.
Calia died on the way back to her homeplanet.
Agreed with the above; scooting on Bird Site, Golden genuinely seems nice; converses and is transparent, just… a standard human like you’d expect? Also does very much seem to care about the setting and players. Any hiccups come about from being a Blizzard writer, i.e. NOT just Warcraft. I didn’t know that before.
Something about Danusers tweets, though… bah.
Definetly Golden over the other two, even if I don’t think Knaak is -that- bad. I liked War of the Ancients and Day of the Dragon.
Also I don’t think Rhonin was so bad
Hot take but at least Knaak manages to characterize his characters as somewhat different and having them consistently remain as he characterizes them, something that is severely lacking in modern day WoW writing and its cast of varying shades of Anduin, and villains
Her Loki-thirst is a bit much at times, but let those who have not been horny on main cast the first stone…
Despite my criticism of him… I’d take the man any day over Golden or Danuser. He knows what he’s talking about and is good at world building.
Sure he’s got pet characters but you can toss this accusation to the two others as well.
Sam Raimi stops film-making and becomes lead writer for Warcraft.
His novels absolutely have lots of nice little tidbits that you can use in your RP at least which is always nice
Also, fourth choice, bombard Roux to Lead Narrative Designer. Granted I haven’t read her work yet so I can’t comment, but those of you who did, can.
From what I read myself, Roux is pretty good. But I only read parts and not the whole things.
Exactly. I’d think with Knaak, the state of the world would be addressed far more than how it is currently.
Golden I like, it’s just I got sick of her handling the Anduin template characters lately. Tauren Anduin, Mage Anduin, Elf Anduin… Yeah I don’t want more of that. She’s good at interpersonal relationships between characters I won’t deny that.
To be honest, Golden’s also written some of the best WoW novels to date such as Lord of the Clans, Beyond Dark Portal, Rise of the Horde and Rise of the Lich King.
It all really comes down to what the studio demands of her at the time; contrary to popular belief, Golden is not a member of the writer team.
Her characterization of Tyrande as angry woman who is unreasonably angry and mean to the poor Orc shaman by virtue of her personality having been replaced by a n g r y does not make me particularly inclined to agree tbh
Yeah pretty much this, I don’t dislike her but the Anduincrafting done is zzz
Yeah, I’m not a fan of these things. Let your women characters be pissed off & or upset at the horrific thing you put them through instead of playing it off as “They’re going too far :(((((” Please Blizzard.
Apparently being upset over a genocide and getting quite frankly pathetic excuses and meager changes is enough to be considered like a villain these days.
