loved it
i got why zack snyder referred to the mythology as the defining aspect of the DCU. some people say heâs a bad story teller, but i think he has a of narrative flair. at some points i felt like i was watching a superhero LOTR. definitely appeals to my taste much more than something like Avengers did.
I personally go for âayn rand libertarianâ which is enough of a black mark by itself tbh
the only time he deviates from Rand is when he lets his homophobia or chauvinism in
The âSoaring Over Bastionâ larion wq is bloody stupid. The story version is simple, the wq version was designed by someone with no sense of direction. Thereâs NO logical pathing for the rings, and itâs getting on my nerves.
Edit: it seems the rings only phase in within a certain distance. Nothing to do with my settings, which are all pretty high. Bad design, which seems to be a recurring theme with ANY flight quest nowadays.
TBC did these better for heaven sakesâŚ
Todayâs peeve is that I found a newly released EP from CHVRCHES on Spotify and it was just full of previously released music.
Tragic.
Shut my PC down cos it sounded like there was a weird sound, and I thought it was running odd cos of how long it had been on.
Sound persisted. Check comunal kitchen. Microwave was beeping constantly and was hot to the touch.
Turn off at wall, unplug, sound stops. Have to hope the damn thing isnt knackered cos of someone else now wowzersâŚ
The fact that it is now almost four months into 2021 and here in Wales we still cannot buy any new clothes in a shop after being locked down inside gaining weight since -Christmas-.
Eat this shiny, blue moth to heal, you say?
In the place where every shiny, blue animal is someoneâs soul that talks?
Man, the metaphysical implications of the shadowlands keep being a horrifying spectacle.
World quests⌠These cursed, damned world quests. Will they ever stop staring at us, with their alluring question marks on our maps? Promising us grand rewards, yet only to receive x2 35 anima. Real life sucks and afterlife sucks, too.
The afterlife turning out to just be another eternal slog of collecting bird eyes and deer horns isâŚ
I mean, itâs inevitable if it ever is to be in focus, but that is why you donât put it in focus in the first place.
Fully expecting a âlightlandsâ next, which is where souls that have not been born yet form. And yes, you will collect bird eyes and deer horns there too.
Shadowlands is terrifying as you got a high chance of randomly being snuffed from existence entierly due to factors beyond your control.
just like real life
They have to have these crazy stakes as itâs their desperate attempts to stir the drifting attention of PvE players whose interest in the lore is shallow and fleeting.
The result of that is that SL is by far the most depressing expansion so far when you actually look at it.
The implication that sylvari, dredgers, and the (slave caste) stewards are born and then just live their lives knowing they will someday die and evaporate into pure nothingness is what terrifies me about The Shadowlands. They are not former mortals, and so surely when they are dead, they are dead.
Considering the amount of things we kill in The Shadowlands in questing alone, it seems like a terrible place to be. It objectively is not an afterlife if it is possible to die there; itâs just a step on the way to true death.
AD made fun of Second Life RPersâŚ
then blizz made all of AD Second Life RPersâŚ
Alot of these(and honestly so many past) issues could probably be solves easily if Blizzard had any kind of forward & or critical-thinking beyond âHey, wouldnât this be cool?â

seeing that thereâs not just individuals, but a guild culture where epic attack helicopter jokes in trp profiles are considered funny is a bit of a peeve
Ah.
Their one joke.
Havenât checked the forums in a couple of weeks, come back and this is the first post I see. Some things never change
