Massive peeve; seeing an animator who got offered a job at GW get harrassed so much by entitled whiners (waah, no free stuf, WAAAH!) they turned the job down and nearly gave up animation in general.

They were still going to do stuff for free as well, I imagine, but their Warhammer animations were going to be made official and be on warhammer+.
Which would have meant they got IP approval, a wage instead of patreon, stability etc etc.

Peeve: people misspelling Chekhov’s Gun as Chekov’s Gun.

Chekov’s Gun is the phaser carried by Ensign Pavel Chekov. Which is cool, but has nothing to do with Anton Chekhov, the writer.

People see that you can sketch out something decent in a couple minutes. So they’re like “can’t be that hard”.
What they don’t see are the years of learning how to do that.

You would think them not being able to do the same thing in the same time would tip them off that maybe the skill is worth a little more than “do it for free xDD”. But no. That’s when everyone shoves it of onto the artist being so talented

Peeve: English shoving random letters where they don’t belong. His name doesn’t need a “k” in the middle there, should have just been “Chehov”.

The k is there to denote the Russian guttural х sound, like the “ch” in “loch”, which is distinct from the English h, which is more or less an unobstructed exhale. Russian itself doesn’t distinguish between the two sounds (so native Russian speakers might use h for a Latin transcription of х), but there are languages that do, such as German, Dutch and Sindarin.
