I had FF1 and 2 on the gameboy advance.
Also, didnât really have a problem with 2âs battle system.

I canât claim to know what the story is like after the end of the vanilla story, Iâm afraid. I played through the 1-80 story as an elementalist without breaking a sweat, then hit a frustrating difficulty spike in Living World season 2, the one about heading west towards Mordremoth. It seemed like it was made with hardcore players in mind. I bought Heart of Thorns but never played it, since it was around the time the RP scene dwindled so much that it killed my main motivation to play GW2.

i bought 10 potions and 10 antidotes they wont get me again!

before the first proper dungeon i did my only real grinding, mainly for gil because i wanted to stock up on antidotes and potions. after that i was appropriately powerful for everything that came after, except the final boss who managed to smack me down
at some point i had more money than i could spend

I mentioned it in another thread, but Heart of Thorns story is some top tier stuff⌠if you play sylvari. For any other race itâs just kind of âdefault adventure in jungleâ.
As it happens, my main character is indeed a sylvari. But Iâm not very fond of the mastery system â is it a grind?
You unlock some stuff via jumping puzzles, others via zone objectives and some just by advancing the quests. I played on release so I can only imagine the process must be somewhat more streamlined now, but it I donât remember the grind being any worse or better than any typical MMO. Itâs pretty fun to unlock movement ability upgrades that help you navigate to new areas, like a light sprinkle of metroidvaina.
