Pet peeves: The return (Part 1)

they can’t decide on how to end it.

why does the never ending story have a last page tho?

if you want my opinion, and i know you all clamour for it

best FF’s:

4, 6, 7 (inc Remake) & 9

i genuinely believed when it came out that it was one

True but 7 never really looked that interesting to me in general. :frowning: I may get around to it eventually but we’ll see!

Original 7 is great stuff. Probably the hardest to play for the first time because it’s art style has aged the worst out of all of them.

I cling to Octopath Traveller and hiss like a cat at Squenix… not my baby…

it worked for velvet crowe and her dnd party.

and same, the ending hit me brutally hard, shame it took dlcs and such to fix the pacing.

My s.o. bullied me into trying it, because it’s her favorite childhood game. Despite a large list of problems and bizarre design choices that are a clear product of its time, in general it is a pretty fun game. It’s probably the first time I’m able to enjoy a “half turn-based” combat. I’m at 54% map clear currently.

Vagrant Story is set in Ivalice, the same world as FF12 and the FF Tactics games (and which shows up, albeit a different version, in FF14).

So it’s 100% a secret FF spinoff title.

based Ivalice

I think I need to add Tactics to my sequential playthrough because that game (and it’s art style) are truly excellent

I miss the old games where I just farm monsters in the overworld to grind up some levels to make my future fights easier…

magilous eyes flash a powerful but obnoxious shade of pink

It’s pretty great.

The Tactics Advance games for the GBA were pretty decent too, though I would definitely say not as good as the OG. They’re explicit isekais which…eh…

And yet she’s teaming up with Artorius in Tales of Arise. Curious!!!

Magilou… aye… now there’s a queen I could follow…

but… why friend

it’s considerably harder, because you don’t gain levels you grind out skill points in weapons and each individual magic spell. it will take forever if you try, and in the later game the enemies do percentage based damage to get around you trying to overpower it

Oh that’s kinda daft.

it’s a horrible system that they never use again. thank god because i legit hate it

my party are all heavy hitters in physical, but their magic is weak because i don’t want to waste MP grinding out levels in each individual spell

oh also your stats are based on them being used. so generally you gain HP by being hit, and build strength by attacking with melee weapons. it’s wild. fortunately the pixel remaster has rebalanced it so that you can also statically gain HP as well just from fighting

aaahh SAHAGIN
