The worst part of Arcane was honestly Riot declaring it mainline canon, because it both breaks a lot of current lore (Jayceâs sponsor and relationship with Viktor are both wildly different, as well as the origins of Hextech) but also puts significant pressure on Arcane to suddenly include a half-dozen champion characters who are way too important to Piltover to not be showing up.
Like, 100-year-old assassin of Piltoverâs upper class Camille hasnât made a move? Incredibly influential Chem-Baroness Renata Glasc isnât at the table? Blitzcrank, the sentient robot Viktor built before he goes robot hasnât even been teased yet?

Arcane Act 2
I like Jayce a lot. Who would have thought that it took losing his job and becoming a homeless future apocalypse survivor to somehow make him hot
Also while I love Viktor, I think ultimately Jayce is going to turn out to have been in the right for what he did. Every time he looked at the people in Viktorâs hexcore hivemind, he saw blank puppets behind the visage with Viktorâs fingerprints glowing on their forehead.
With Ekkoâs time travel stuff in the games, I am absolutely certain that Jayce is timetraveling to stop something worse from happening â torn clothes, leg brace, and desperately repeating âI wonât fail this timeâ. Canât wait to be even more heartbroken in Act 3

i know enough of league lore to say he was probably very very right. viktor had shimmer right. that was in his blood when it contaminated the hextech. ive a strong suspicion whats in shimmer is the reason why what he did is ultimately what proves he was very. very. in the right. heimerdingers reactions to viktor in season 1, and this is important because yordles are massively intune with magic, was a big tell even then.

And everything Jayce has done was to try and save Viktorâs life. He loved him, and while Jayce messed up in season 1, he still came and sat by his side and tried to save his life at all cost. He wouldnât turn around and just kill Viktor easily, and I canât wait to see the internal heartbreak and conflict around that decision be explored next week.

if im right he frankly spared viktor a worse fate. if someones not versed in leagues lore or artwork his visions wont have made much sense. if you are you see similarities with a force of nature that no one wants to contend with. im very invested now to see if this will be the case.
she is and id have rathered they make a different niche for her.

I have never played League once in my life (thank god) but the lore seems neat. All I know about it stems from watching Arcane and the implications in all the cinematics that Riot makes which I occasionally wind up watching on youtube when they show up on the timeline.
Although theyâre mostly music videos, theyâre rich with visual storytelling even if it doesnât explain the lore specifically to me.

thats what i love about them, they made me start to care about the bigger picture and actually start looking into the world of runeterra. its really fascinating lore which makes those cinematics cooler when you realise the symbolism behind them.
its why i was glad seeing riot branch off from league not just with arcane but with other game projects. keeping that lore to a moba is a crime.
