Pet peeves: The return (Part 10)

Maybe, but at the same time it’s been about three months since TWW rolled out. They could re-roll to something that would be more appropriate, but throwing out what’s already there to do so probably doesn’t seem the most appealing.

It’s not an apples-to-apples to comparison but I guess the best way I can describe it is with my own experiences on Horde. A lot of ideas, a lot of motivation to see those ideas become more than just ideas, but then hitting the wall of low player numbers or limited space to interact.

For the Arathi RPers, it’s been three months since launch but I’ve known a few who were hyped to make one since beta. While yeah, IC they should still be dealing with everything they’re dealing with, OOC it’s been between three to six months. I feel like that’s long enough for people to decide they want to expand their character beyond a singular zone, especially if it means they actually get to play said character.

Me with act 2. I actually found Act 3 to be really fun, probably the best act for me. Act 1 gets minus points for the entire Underdark section.

@Lintian, easy mode options exist in games for a reason. The internet’s attitude of ‘hurr durr you didn’t play the game on the hardest difficulty, so you’re extremely bad and should feel bad forever’ attitude can go choke on its own toxicity, really.

I was sorta struggling on Balanced quite a bit sometimes as well (mostly because the build I wanted has never been viable in cRPG games, funnily enough BG3 has been the closest I could get to it as a Nature/plant-based fighter-Druid), until early on in Act 3 I found a Legendary weapon for Karlach, that after respeccing Karlach into a Throwmancer singlehandedly won the game for me.

Karlach became my main party member after that lmao.

I agree with this, under the condition that said difficulty is fair, and not locking you out from something “important” (note, I used quotes).
Far too often, there’s something really nice hidden behind said difficulties, effectively forcing you to actually go through them.

  • Certain developers love putting platinum trophies behind clearing on all difficulties
  • Certain rewards ingame are behind a high difficulty.

And this is unfair for those just wanting to play through the game and experience it.
Those difficulties should be entirely optional for those who want to do the challenge and prove themselves (e.g feat of strength), but not forcing people to run it with FOMO tactics.

personally I won’t play a Souls game for example. Not my kind of game, and I don’t want to do challenging content like that 24/7 while playing the game.
Same for the FF7 hard mode for example. It should have been entirely options, yet it’s required to Platinum the game or even fight certain bosses to get the full experience.
It can be done better…

I feel like there’s Souls games and Souls games.

Even though I’ve nearly platinumed it, and will probably come back and do a few more runs to get the last ending/s, I still feel to my core that, compared to the likes of Dark Souls 1, Elden Ring is a lot more full of bull :poop: .

Input reading is absolutely a thing, enemy attack chains/stamina are SO much more massive, some are just nigh immune to poise damage… I could go on. Dark Souls 1 was like a bigger rock-paper-scissors, learning counters to stuff and enemies were consistent. The only challenges came from player stubborness (hi) or actually Badly Designed Stuff (looking at YOU, Bed of Chaos. Dork.)

Elden Ring?
I still don’t think I’ve seen all of Margits wombo combos, because the :peach: hole always seems to have a new one to pull out of SOMEWHERE, JFC-

achievements are an imaginary e-bushido number that I feel it is better not to care about.

Settling on poses for drawing is h a r d.

How is it I can perfectly imagine an image in my head, but actually translating that to pen on paper/stylus on tablet has, like, a dozen hurdles to even starting?

Grossly unfair. What the hell.

Not wrong, but it annoys me when it’s the only trophy missing xD

That’s how we end up with the DK barman and similar. I still think it’s pretty silly when there’s so many other options which are pretty damn similar.
A half elf from EK Arathor for instance.

I’m making banana and kiwi bread. I’m unsure how it’s going to turn out. Worried it’s too moist.

now I am curious…

Make banana bread in a rice cooker, but with kiwi mashed in with said other fruit.
Added some cinnamon and sultanas for good measure.

Do let us know how it turned out, that baniwi-bread

Should be done shortly. Will let it cool and lightly dust it with icing sugar and do a swirl of honey on it.

It cools in pot first.
