More sincere, RL peeve, though. Genuinely wishing UBI was a thing, for everyone’s sake.
Confronted with indifference to my job, the reality I still need it for stability and healthcare, but family and friends are literally hundreds of miles away and…
Ugh. Can someone come purge these head gremlins, please and thank you? ._.
the reason it is, is because geoff fears a jrpg winning so badly he bent the rules on whats allowed. itll probably win because, and i do not mean this at folk here, ER players are…insufferable and numerous about how no other game but ER is good.
erdtree was mid. there i said it. it was mid. ringed city and old hunters clear it by miles.
Sounds great on paper, has disastrous consequences in practice and just overall isn’t long-term stable. It also doesn’t get rid of the actual economic inequalities because it isn’t enough to outweigh the rising costs that would occur across the board due to its introduction. Standardised Living Wage secured by a Lock is a better platform to campaign for when it comes to raising the lowest up.
Bureaucratic nitpicking aside, I get the sentiment .
It was enjoyable but much like Veilguard not something I see myself really replaying. Some of the boss decisions were…interesting.
It’s weird that Rogue Trader (which falls in this 'year’s release window for Geoff’s awards) wasn’t nominated, snubbed I say, snubbed
I’m a bit sad knowing that Fallout won’t win the series/show/movie award because that was genuinely fantastic tv but it won’t have the feral votingbase that Arcane has
shadow of the erdtree getting nominated for goty makes me unreasonably annoyed
this was the year of elden ring for me, and in the year that it was released and won goty i would say yes sir fantastic choice
but nominating a dlc that is essentially just more elden ring, and requires you to be pretty much in the endgame of the base game to play and is therefore not standalone getting up there instead of other candidates?
nah that ain’t right. because if it is, then phantom liberty was robbed because that should have been nominated last year if that’s how we’re playing the game now
rest of the list is fine though, i’ve played them all except wukong and it’s likely between rebirth and astrobot. balatro is an astonishing game but i can’t see it winning the title
Yeah, even if its a good dlc I’m not super into dlcs being treated as games for the purposes of industry awards.
That said I almost never play the sort of game that gets nominated for industry awards unless its some obscure thing like ‘grognard joe’s best spreadsheet simulator 2025’
