Pet peeves: The return (Part 11)

Another example of players self-nerfing with their suggestions (this is cool, and might be enough to make me start dropping bots with a support weapon again).

My pet peeve is that whenever I hear this particular bit of WoW soundtrack

I immediately feel the temptation to create a Kul Tiran privateer-type character, and just don’t have that degree of spare time for gaming these days!

Imagine being a Goblin living in Undermine, being shaken down by some shady people in an alley. Only for an equally shady looking Forsaken to run into them at Mach speed, punch them to death, ignore you and start digging around in the trash can next to you.

Going to guess remaster? Also knew they’d do 1 first because 2’s got all sorts to untangle.

Good to know no one’s going to remember my monk wading through trash to get … market research??

This patch really has turned us all into raccoons, hasn’t it?

In other news, I managed to complete the Monster Hunter Wilds main story, and for a MH game, it was a decent story. Not super special, but it was okay. Story spoilers below, read at your own peril.

The revelation that Arkveld and other monsters turned out to be artificially made by the denizens of Wyveria, of which the largest of them, Zho Shia, promptly turned on them and laid waste to their civilization, was one I didn’t expect. Also love the on-going tradition of MH games of, the more it looks like a dragon, the more dangerous it is.

In similar vein, I felt a bit ehh having to constantly drag Nata around, and his ā€˜dont kill Arkveld’ moment was just wtf. That thing attacked your village and had pretty much turned into the Indominus Rex of Wilds. And you’re seriously asking me to -SPARE- it?! But other than that, he wasn’t too bad, just a kid lost in the world. And I liked that we could spare him from essentially having to cause mass-destruction. The message of 'Sometimes you don’t have to do what everyone expects you to, was nice.

yawn ā€œmehā€

Then we just started slow blinking at each other.

Seeing the apparently-seething-hatred in other threads some people apparently have for Dracthyr just reminds me of MoP and post MoP era where people were still Big Mad about the ā€˜kung fu panda expansion’ and Pandaren in general.

NGL, as someone with two entirely sincere Dracthyr characters that I’ve enjoyed playing so far, it’s kinda disheartening. ā€œOh but, they’re all-ā€ look, if we judge by Lowest Denominator then all of Alliance is like Goldshire, and all of Horde is like that caravan. Would a little nuance kill people? Sheesh.
On my Alliance medic it’s less a problem, as I’ve guest-character’d her with my guild and it went fantastic. Horde side, it’s a bit more ā€˜eh’.

Oh well. We’ll see. If I ever get time to properly RP again (related peeve heh) then I’ll try and fix that, I guess.
