Finding it very funny that the first Tempest Cleric 5th level spell is Destructive Wave - does half thunder half radiant/necrotic damage, makes sense - and the second spell they clearly just threw a dart at a board to get Insect Plague
Control Wind? Maelstrom? Cone of Cold? Maybe even Cloudkill? nah insects lmao
Itâs true. Iâm still bitter over the change to the female Troll walk and maintain they lost their cool âdip slideâ and had it replaced with a waddle. And I will die on this hill.
They updated Lotros elves recently and⌠yeah that went⌠well thereâs screenshots. Lots of angry screenshots.
Warhammer elves talk and gesticulate fervently with their hands especially when talking to humans because their way of subtly conveying meaning - ear movements and soft emphasis on words - is lost on them
Itâs often said that no non-elf can actually speak elven (except for Wulfrik the Wanderer who specifically can in the exact scenario that heâs goading someone to fight him), because it would be like trying to speak English without any vowels
Twiâlek in Star Wars are quite similar! Their original language, Ryl, uses subtle Lekku movements as part of the vocabulary, making it near impossible to speak properly or understand properly without those movements.
Flashbacks to when my darth stabbed her twillek apprentice in the lekku for failing a task.
I love ESOs zone guide, eso knows itâs massive and just gives so many tools to just stay in a path. Lost the main story? Click this button, not only will it mark it, it will open the map and incrementally zoo in to show exactly where it is.
Every mmo needs this, WoW needs this for⌠so many things.
Kinda of the same for wow, itâs commented that humans struggle to get a grip on high/blood elves due to archaic formality. Iâm aure Telaryn will have the exact thing somewhere. Iâm sure it stems from one of the books with Jaina in (I want to say the Arthas book)
And then in Traveller one of the characters are warned to be sure an elf is a friend when they approach, because theyâll be incredibly disarming and suddenly thereâs a sword in your stomach.
Edit: The kitchen sink fantasy absorbs all tropes.
Jaina was the daughter, if not of royalty, of nobility and of a ruler. Her father, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, ruled the city-state of Kul Tiras, and Jaina had grown up accustomed to interaction with nobility. And yet, Prince Kaelâthas unnerved her. She wasnât quite sure what it was. He was handsome, certainly, with that grace and beauty that all elves possessed. Tall, with hair like spun gold that fell halfway down his back, he always looked to her like a figure out of legend rather than a real, living person. Even though he was currently clad in the simpler violet and gold robes of a mage of Dalaran and not the lavish robes he would wear to official occasions, he never seemed to lose his stiffness. Perhaps that was itâthere was a sort ofâŚantiquated formality about him.
âThe kaldorei are a sight to behold, surely,â Greydon had said. âMerely laying eyes on one can take the most hardened warriorâs breath away. And that is something they count on. You may not see it, but youâll feel it. They have ⌠an aura. Power. It surrounds and infuses them. Itâs blasted irresistible. But resist you must. A night elf can be a great friend. Or a terrible foe. I canât say youâll ever meet one in the flesh, son. But if you do, find out which youâre facing before you lower your guard.â
I really liked the original male model, especially the facial options. I canât recall what option I used, exactly, though I was able to make mine look fairly stoic.
The update ruined the vibe and made him look permanently angry which made me stop playing Night Elves altogether.
