Oh, for sure, a direct 1-1 translation is never gonna work out, but you do want it to feel similar (or at least conceptually appear similar).
Circling back to the Diablo RPG, it’s not a game that lends itself terribly well to the D&D attrition-based gameplay. Blizzard are probably aware of this because there was an awful 3.5-era Diablo D&D skin and it was a mess.
WoW isn’t quite as extreme in the mass-slaughtering-horde-and-loot-many-items as diablo is…but it’s also not far off.
It might be that the Diablo RPG does actually have mechanics that lend itself to being reskinned into Warcraft. I guess we’ll see.
New Starfinder RPG announced by what looks like an entirely new studio. Not yet actually launched their kickstarter but the screenshots on display look encouraging.
I put up Shelves (well… a shelf. First of four) today.
After, like, four trips to B&Q yesterday and today. Needing more bits/different bits and tools.
Got there in the end, though.
Is it square? Pffft no. The cupboards/ex-wardrobes these are going in are hilarious, ludicrously wonky, for some reason. Like they were fitted/set up by someone who never touched a spirit level in their life.
Is it flat/level?
You’re damn right it is. Not pretty, but definitely does the job.
For the first time today I tried out a warcraft 3 map called Warcraft Legacies, basically letting you play as -24- different factions in Azeroth, and holy hell. It’s a fun map but naturally as a beginner who sucks at micro I got thrashed
Edit: For those curious, I ended up playing as the Bilgewater Goblins, task was to try and help the Horde on Kalimdor against the Night Elves but sadly got thrashed
I always found custom maps like those deeply interesting and also super frustrating, because chances are whenever you find one, the people playing it have played it a lot more than you, and since you get smushed so fast, not a whole lot of opportunity to learn them.
There is that yeah, I ended up against some folks that play the game more often , so I ended up dying. One of the guys even has a video channel and the way he micros… normal player just can’t compete with that. Still, the game -is- fun and i was thankfully not the only newbie playing, and these guys actually dont mind if newer players join.
Which is also already worth something considering what some of WC3’s playerbase can be like.
Wanted to link a video but it says I can’t embed media stuff… does this mean my trustlevel 3 is ded?
It’s funny you mention that. There actually is a map now from which this one is derived, Azeroth Wars: Legacy Reborn, that does have AI opponents now. Only minor thingie is, the guy who made those is french and as a result, some of the spoken dialogue between heroes is in french aswell. Other than that, it’s pretty neat.
But yeah, I definetly do hope this map with 24-man mayhem will receive it eventualy aswell.
