Pet peeves: The return (Part 14)

My partner is trying to deal with a swollen/enflamed gum and/or wisdom tooth issue, and getting very anxious about it (understandable) and I’m just… so angry at the state of Dentistry in the UK at the mo?

Like, it should not be a chore/impossible to get emergency help for stuff like this? Why is it so bad? Why are people not fixing this?
I’m 500 miles away (again) and can’t do aught to help, and it’s just… What The Hell…

You caught me mostly fresh out of raid as well, always a good time to stumble upon my fellow forum heads ingame

Dentists are one of the few areas I’ve never had an issue with, in England at least. Dunno sbout the other parts of the UK. The biggest issue when I had two teeth out was time. The dentist insisted on a hospital dentist/surgeon due to medical history - but once it got moving it took about a week.

The dentist themselves should have an emergency number, least mine does and it’s nhs.

I ended up in hospital because of my tooth.

At least Max Fax removed it without issue.

Sucks when it hits you for sure - the non emergency nhs number/website should have help for emergency dentists, best of luck getting it sorted

Addendum on the firefox AI thing: apparently the method I provided before only hides the AI stuff, rather than full disables it.

In order to disable it, per https://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-and-remove-all-ai-features-in-mozilla-firefox/ (scroll down to method 2):

Open new tab->Type ‘about:config’ (no air quotes) and hit enter->Accept risks->Type ‘browser.ml.chat.enabled’ into the searchbar->double click the top result so that it changes ‘true’ to ‘false’->Close tab. No additional confirmation required.

Thankfully stuff from the Pharmacy kicked in after they had a nap. Hopefully all ok now ^^

Salted water rinse a couple times a day.
And maybe hold said water in the mouth and run toothbrush over problem area gently.

When I wrote about an obscure arcane procedure to opt out of an AI chatbot, I meant it as an April Fools joke. Now Mozilla has implemented it for real.

Oh the woes of listening to a new song, loving it, having bad hearing so picking up lyrics is hard, and finding out said lyrics haven’t been released.

The knowledge of if we do or don’t get Ethereals is only a couple days off and I’m trying to squash hopes.

At least we’re getting to look at housing stuff for sure.

I still expect a repeat ala garrisons, but that just means I can be pleasantly surprised if housing does indeed turn out good

God bless your wizard ways, Ele.

Nice straight flight path

Gave in to the Voices and picked up Hold Fast on Steam.

Official servers - absolute carnage. Mic spam like its early 2000s. Officer class? Orders? (which do have mechanical benefits actually) Nah, lets just gaggle-scramble our way in the vague direction of the objective.
Situational awareness - nonexistent. Tide of battle - unpredictable. Chaos - absolute.

10/10, would get turned to red mist by a stray cannonball or beaten to death with a frying pan again.

Got dared to play a full Nexus TW run in first-person, very glad I am NOT epileptic.
Evoker isn’t bad, it was worse from friend who dared me to do so on her shaman so I got that at least

I found this interview with one of the devs who worked on War3.
https:// pretzel-lectern.blogspot .com/2016/05/behind-warcraft-iii-interview-with.html
He explains the process they used for designing each of the levels, though not in detail or specifically.

There are mods that remove him from the game.

Apparently a dragon age remaster was pitched to the ea suits but they didn’t bite. It’s also more difficult to do da than ME for engine reasons. Must admit I assumed they used the same engine but then I also don’t pay attention to it all most of the time.

In peeves, two and a bit more weeks till schools start up again. I wouldn’t change the 6 week break personally as I know many people for whom it’s the only window where they feel themselves - course theres also the flip side where several children lose their safe haven for a month but they’d lose that space regardless unfortunately.

Personally I do find it too long though. Three weeks is better, two weeks to get things done that got put off and one to relax. 6 just drags things. Then the flip side is we can’t teach in stupid heat with the way uk classrooms are set up so meh.
