found it
huh and i thought witness was kinda out there for forcing you to sit through a movie or smth i didn’t play the game
but i did think it was funny to make you attentively sit through the movie to find patterns now and then
kojima wants to be a movie director but is stuck in video games now and so throws in some gameplay segments every now and again to sell copies while getting as many big budget names in as possible
i hear chris pratt is playing the main character in his next title
I don’t understand this meme. I know the origin of it but I still don’t understand it.
tbh the cutscenes aren’t really the problem, the unskippable wouldn’t be the problem either if implemented properly
the issue in FFX was that there was something like half an hour of unskippable cutscene before and after a couple of long and fairly likely to beat you at least once on a first playthrough bosses. real pain if you went in blind with no opportunity to save after the cutscene.
it’s simply crisp rat being memennounced for being VA for everything after garfield and mario (which are unfortunately real news)
much of modern humour is just absurdising some events happening, especially if they’re out of left field themselves
He’s also Marcus Fenix in Gears of War.
thats less impressive (+ i already knew)
you still can’t skip cutscenes even in the remaster which i’m playing which is a really weird oversight
Metal Gear solid games are cheesy movies which Kojima begrudgingly put player controls in.
ngl though mgs1, 2 and 3 were genuinely great
still blows my mind that something as simple as getting physcomantis to read your memory card and force you to switch your controller port was a thing
Kojima games are perfect for me, because they are fantastic games to listen to long-form critique and discussion of but extremely time-consuming to play
Metal Gear Rising gang rise up, it’s condensed Kojima.
that soundtrack though
90% of things between bosses was rubbish, but that remaining 10%, boss fights and the soundtrack kicked
nah it was good, you need the bread to make the filling that much more delicious
and to give you time to make codec calls
