Pet peeves: The return (Part 2)

The sub has lowered cost in my region while mog station items aren’t adjusted. Thus 1 phial of fantasia costs roughly 2 months worth of sub.

I promise lol. I used it once to try out Viera, but then switched back to au ra. After I’m done with msq I want to go male Viera, see how I like it and then switch back to au ra again by the time next part of msq comes out, if i dont like buns enough.

The… wha? How?!

It put me off healing at first, but at least healer DPS is utterly braindead so it’s not too bad.

I still prefer harder (but not too hard) content where I spend more time healing than doing damage, though.

Also SGE is well fun, think its going to replace SCH as favourite healer.

I thought Sage was pretty foolproof since the first role quest is literally “here’s how you play.”

Apparently not.

Fortunately the healers are slacking on me or they don’t know how to play sage, because it’s always sage, Bloodwhetting is godly. I am literally unable to die.

I just don’t know HOW.

If you came from WoW, you’ve seen disc priests, if you’ve only played FF then you should know that DPS is expected of you?

Like when you can since I HAVE been stuck in situations where I’ve had to babysit a paper tank before now and not really had the GCD to DPS.

D&D is really just the musical version of build-a-bear

EW spoilers

I expected many things from EW. Time travel back before the sundering and witnessing Elpis wasn’t one of them.

Any zero DPS healer is bad. But a sage?
My poor dear…

People on social media are overly bitter about duty finder tbh.

I earlier had a healer in the level 67 dungeon who didn’t DPS and just used cure 1, and the DPS players weren’t super sharp either. So I adjusted my pace, gently gave advice, and when they picked up on it a few packs later I was really happy and proud.

I had to save someone with Heart of Stone 3 times, but we cleared it with no deaths, and I enjoyed the experience a lot.

I kindly give advice and if they’re not receptive to it, then I just introduce them to my foot and boot them out of the group wth the quickness. If you’re holding up people because you’re level 87 but didn’t read the sage tooltips or you still spam cure 1, you can bother another group. That’s what kick is for.

That and people who greet you with “salut!”

Reddit loves indulging in similar complaints and horror stories, but it seems totally overblown. I scarcely ever see anyone play that badly, and certainly never in anything Shadowbringers or above.

Feels like there’s a hundred times more complaining about people than people worth complaining about. It’s honestly a bit tired.

I respect my time more than they do.
Hey ho.

I have a fair few FF14 horror stories.

But nowhere near as many WoW ones.

People who keep talking about FF14 are becoming a major irritation.

Can you go and take it elsewhere? Thanks.

Well, your experiences aren’t universal. I’ve played through a disaster Prae where a guy started slur spamming because he didn’t like someone’s name, then couldn’t be kicked because he’d keep everyone in combat.

Idk, just last night in a daily roulette I had a tank that would do 1x aoe and from then on only single target the mobs, effectively doubling the time of that Doma Castle run, because I can’t pop off without pulling agrro. I think if you are able to enter your login credentials, you should have a basic understanding of mmo principles. If you reach past lvl 60 as a tank, I don’t know what sort of mindset one has to have to look at an aoe attack and not think that it’s a good idea to use it when fighting 3+ enemies.

No, these things do not happen often and the severity varies, but it still happens.

Toxicity is way worse than bad play. Luckily, I see practically nothing of it, nothing like in WoW.

My experiences are not universal but I have done enough content by now to form a good impression, I think.

Honestly I think more overall toxicity is contributed to the community by the people complaining about the bad players than the bad players themselves.

If someone is slow, whatever. I wouldn’t do a dungeon if I didn’t have half an hour set aside for it beforehand. I won’t even remember it happened the week after. Someone being toxic on the other hand…

Nah, the AD community can’t be found elsewhere, and our bonds are strong.

Sure stronger than WoW at least.

You can always attempt to dominate the conversation with your own topics.
