Pet peeves: The return (Part 2)

NFTs are the literal worst.

They better not be pushing that on XIV.

Need to level SGE on dancing midlander. Bit too tipsy for that ATM.

Seeing more artists, celebs and companies getting into NFT and crypto :cow2: :poop:

Either bubble’s gonna burst or, swear on gods, it needs to be forced to pop :upside_down_face:

A lot of the artists I follow on twitter lock their accounts… It’s such a chore to find out who is on “hiatus”, who just locked and who stopped posting bc of the MLM for men that is Crypto.

Heck I’ve barely been arting for a while and this whole thing is tiring me out

”I realize that some people who “play to have fun” and who currently form the majority of players have voiced their reservations toward these new trends, and understandably so. However, I believe that there will be a certain number of people whose motivation is to “play to contribute,” by which I mean to help make the game more exciting. Traditional gaming has offered no explicit incentive to this latter group of people, who were motivated strictly by such inconsistent personal feelings as goodwill and volunteer spirit.”

Squeenix president declaring the end of Fun in the name of Profit

This year, watch those suit ghouls manufacture consent like crazy by leaning hard on a (non-existent) group of poor contributors/modders who just wish they had a better incentive………

On the bright side, instead of eventually playing Endwalker this year, I’ll now have more time to devote to productive stuff, so that’s good

Yup.

At the moment I’m really stuck in a horrible limbo; I’m realising more and more that what I want (after 2021 absolutely table-flipped my entire life) is to get back to creating and making things that I enjoy, and ideally have people go “Ooh, that’s cool” to. My reaction to awesome stuff like Arcane - I want to be the one making things that make people get hyped.

And yet… I’m stuck with really low motivation and a really dragging weariness. The world and people and stuff just gets to me too much.
Also my dominant hand/wrist feeling like it will get twingey/pained on the flip of a coin really doesn’t help

I wanted to find motivation to maybe finally start the webcomic/graphic novel idea I’ve had floating about for years now, but with the whole NFT stuff going on I don’t feel myself inclined to art much less share it on the internet.

And the quite heavily allegations towards dA lowkey supporting NFT stuff is also not helping either.

Will artists ever catch a break :weary:

I thought they were one of the few alerting artists when stuff was stolen/copied? Admittedly as a perk of their membership/premium thing, but at least it’s something instead of just… nothing?

Eh, dunno. Same boat, though

There’s rumors that their end plan is starting their own nft infrastructure, so that when they inform you of your work being stolen/minted they can follow up with “hey, to prevent that, maybe let us mint it for you ;)”

It’s protected for 3months after upload, permanently while subbed, which in and of itself is also predatory considering how much they stripped of free perks, bundled some into the sub and also stripped the sub while upping the price.

But there was an email with talks of supporting cr*ptowallets a while back, they don’t really stop the bot raids which are only really a problem on their website and so on.

It’s just allegations so far, but after the Wix buyout the sites just gotten worse with the years.

ALso this.

Oh…

So yeah, dA kind of also sucks.
I really should get around to downloading+dating all my works on there and then take them down.

At this point, as much I love stuff like MMOs, online gaming and the good parts of the net…

I still feel like the Internet, open for public ‘consumption’, was a mistake.

Just the corporate era we’re in of the internet has been the biggest mistake, it used to be an argueably better place than the purely profit driven thing it is now.

Granted it’s always been profit, but there at least used to be passion as well. We lack the latter now.

Having Triss, Ciri and/or Yen with me is great.
Makes the game feel nicer to have company.

Turned Triss into the Netflix version.

damn the aoe2 games slowed down so maybe i should boot up witcher 3 again

my problem is mostly just that i kinda forgot where i’m at right now :frowning:

also i guess i forgot how to play it too

It was nice to start again.
I liked mods.

Peeve; I stay up way too late. It’s gone 2am again.
Then I end up oversleeping. And then, to ‘reclaim’ daytime, I stay up.
Ad infinitum.

I wish I had better self control at staying off the gods damned internet ._.
