Pet peeves: The return (Part 3)

What’s especially weird about Big bang Theory is they did a WoW skit prior to that one and it actually was researched? So why do a 2nd one and not put the leg work in?

EDIT: Think i only know about these because the ex was showing mwe them on youtube with a; look how BBT references our game.

Lazyness. They bothered once due to a fluke, why bother again?

Also having watched a scene of the Big Bang theory without the laugh-track was soul-crushing. It is so…unsettling.

Ew.

I know I’m harping on about BBT a lot now but it IS because if you do your nerd research it just hits better?

Even the South Park episode did its legwork.

One of the Stargate Atlantis characters is a WoW player and the few times he brings it up its accurate.

There was a SG:1 episode as well where a lab scientist plays Diablo 3 and talked accuratly about it with Carter.

Its probably the same character.

But yeah, Weir was distracting him with WoW talk and he was going on about being a human mage and having to level his enchanting and as said, it just hits the right mark.

EDIT: In a later episode, he’s on an alien planet and compares it to Elwyn.

Honest prediction for the next expansion: Danuser will vomit up the last vestiges of Warcraft 3 to appease the 35 year olds who’ll happily chomp at those half-digested chunks since it’s the only thing to distract them from their receding hairline and faded youth. They’ll cry "WARCRAFT IS BACK! FOR THE [FACTION!] and then in a move unsurprising to anyone with even a single wrinkle on their brain, patch 10.1 will be about cosmic nonsense.

I’ll deep fry my shoes if I’m wrong, but I wasn’t wrong about BfA.

I’d approach this with cautious optimism if you are excited. Always remember that a flashy CG trailer is not the actual game.

Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to get ordained. After all, this is pretty much preaching to the choir!

It’s fun when they do it properly like that, and sadly I don’t recall that many times its done so.

Usually it’s pretty bad. A few others I recall personally are:

-iZombie having a D&D/gamer episode, which has some stuff, but also a bunch of random language that makes no sense and the “all gamers are lonely basement dwellers” stereotype.

-BBT also had a halo reference and said they were playing it, but talking about how its all gore and entrails splattering everywhere.

-How I met your Mother had a 5 second WoW reference, but it was the typical “haha only guys play women characters” joke.

Bonus: The strain having a Kool hacker that can “break the entire internet” simply with the power of hacking/typing fast on a keyboard.

Dutch ended up being pretty good as a character in the end, but her first 2 seasons are awful.

She served as nothing but a drama creator for the entire first half of the show.

Well, they had to replace Nora somehow after killing her off (she survived in the book)

I will remember this, not because I think you’ll be proven wrong, but because if you will be, I want to see you deepfry your shoes.

Something like Dragon Isles is a pretty safe guess

which is unfortunate because Rahul Kohli (the actor who plays the medical examiner) is an avid gamer and is also a good lad and honourary Scouser

He was/is honestly my favourite character.

The actor is also in Haunting of Bly Manor, and does a fantastic job.

You might like Midnight Mass, then - I’ve not seen it but I’ve heard good things

Same here. Heard lots of it but not watched!

I need to give it a try.

Speaking of; F how the show ended, much prefer the book ending where the kid has no redeemable qualities, after having to put up with that kid actor from season 2 onwards, I’d have much preferred they didn’t try to redeem him.

He’s also Fahz in Gears 5.

Oh, Fahz. What an absolute unrepentant jerk.

I love him.

Hey! I’m 35 and I feel and look pretty young!

(I get what you’re saying, it just feels like an unfair and overly broad stereotype)
