Overall I really liked the show, and Setrakian and Fet had perfect castings. So did Palmer and Eichorst.
But Zack season 2(I feel really bad to say this about an actor) has the most punchable face in television, and so unlikable. Even more so than his book version who was supposed to be unlikable.
Also TV-show Eph is nowhere near as unbearable as book Eph.
I was also sad to see the entire mythology of the Master and the Ancients cut from the final season/finale.
Donât get me wrong, I donât really like where the book series went, you know it went from a pretty medical examiner against a vampire virus book to the events in the Bible are real and weâre dealing with the throat of an angel who is cursed.
And iâm not saying they CANâT have religion in it, humans used to use magical things to explain the unexplainable all the time, thatâs fine.
it did just LITERALLY go; Yo, Lotâs real yâall.
Iâm mixed about it. On one hand it stepped away from the uniqueness of the first two books, but Iâm also a sucker for mythology, and I liked the chapters from the Masterâs point of view.
I know i didnât comment, but i donât like Corey Stoll in anything heâs been in so him as Eph was not great for me.
I liked the other castings though, wouldâve liked to have seen Ron Perlman as Fet though (thatâs who Del Toro had in mind for the roll when writing the character)
I also recall that the Master originally was going to be played by the really large french guy in the Sherlock Holmes film.
Funnily enough, the only thing I saw him in before that was a Stargate SG:1 episode where he plays a Goaâuld.(Its the one where they are at a trial at the neutral planet to try and determine who has the right to Skaaraâs body, him or the Goaâuld).
