They’re not and that’s why they’re now hiring Lore masters.

I’d make such a pretty dreadlady.

Dreadlady Levey, rocking the Countess title from venthyr and Venthyr gothic thigh boots.

Still stylish, I’ll take it!

Home Sweet Home: Survive has arisen from the dead.

Wonder if its fixed its scummy practices?

Won’t hold my breath mind, but DbD really does need a kick up the butt with some actual contest.

Ever since I started playing the game casually time to time I’ve had…mixed feelings about it. It has some severe balancing issues when it comes to certain perks or killers. The matchmaking is also pretty bad in terms of that there is only ranked and nothing else.

It can be fun though in small doses, but it also has a really toxic player base. I mainly play/played Killer, and it honestly felt like atleast over half of the people playing survivors are just douchebags. High chance of getting 4 friends just steamrolling you, or a streamer. Alot of toxic comments in post-chat. if I didn’t kill anyone, I get insulted. If I killed someone, I also get insulted. Constant circle-running, flashlight spamming and body-blocking and of course the infamous teabag spam at the gates.

It really need balancing for gameplay and a fix to matchmaking desperately. And some actual enforcement on player behaviour.

Out of all possble properties to buy licenses to all my favourite slashers it had to be this grubby garbage.

Unfortunately; never going to happen because BHVR can’t fix anything in their damn game.

Or when they do fix something, they break several other things.

It needs competition frankly, and the competition needs to not die quickly or succumb to scummy practices like loot boxes only, which is what HSH did, meaning you couldn’t straight up buy the skins you want.

It’s a real shame, because as I said, the general gameplay and idea I think is pretty fun and a couple of games can be enjoyable.

But something has gone severely wrong when the killer isn’t seen as a threat. That’s like the whole point of this game. The killer is meant to be by default, feared and avoided.

In DbD it’s the exact opposite.

“I would’a gotten away with it, too if it weren’t for those dang kids!”

It truly is the stuff of memes and parody, killer or his off-brand copyright friendly substitute being bullied forever in a loop.

i miss Last Year. It was my favourite of the asymmetrics and died because it was Discord only for a year and by the time it released onto Steam, it was dead in the water.

EDIT: VHS seems to have died as well annoyingly.

I recall a game from several years ago that also looked promising but then just died, White Noise.

It had DbD survivors style with different perks, and a killer. But the survivors objectives was heavily inspired by Slenderman in that you needed to collect tapes(just like the pages/drawings).

There’s been loads, there was the Resident Evil one too (also dead).

It’s such a shame, because the formula is fun. But its like alot of game markets, its a struggle to get players to leave their invested game to try another thing.

It is really fun, yeah.

It DOES need the other devs to… not just abandon their version.

Last Year had no updates in the year it was Discord only. The RE one was abandoned. Don’t hold much hope for the HSH revival since its already died once.
