There is a more challenging play variant [think Pokemon Nuzlocke for reference] called This Is Total War where you instantly declare war on any faction you encounter and refuse any diplomacy or peace talks.

It’s a terrible idea but some people like that

I hear that - he should train Patriarchs with the Court mechanic (I still think he should be able to recruit the hero witches with a building because the gameplay would suck without them) and have things like their sleds on skis rather than ice.

also ice witches should use panther mounts instead of bears

Setting aside campaign issues, WH3 has fantastic multiplayer. I’ve been having tons of fun with it with a friend, both battles and campaigns (the battles in particular are excellent if you use Turin’s tournament rules). Watching his content is also great!
