Pet peeves: The return (Part 3)

wtf happened here

The outsiders came quickly in too low numbers to do lasting harm. Know their tracks and man the walls; this was just a probing of our defences.

they tryed to do a loop XD

My main problem with illusion spells are that their efficacy can depend a lot on DM rulings, which makes them hard to recommend as they are. Fireball(/haste/hypnotic pattern/fly/tiny hut) is always doing what it says on the tin, so it’s easier to big up.

Also, nothing controls a group of enemies better than killing them quickly

…then reanimating the chunks into something more obedient.

My D&D character is on the run for stealing a magical artifact in his home town but not stealing well enough to not be noticed.

We just discovered that the owner of said artifact is at our current location and there is no way to avoid him. The next session is going to be a big one for me.

This is the stuff that always appealed to me about the game. Glad I’m finally getting to do it.

Tyrenas reminded me of all the art things I still need to finish/start.
Why are friends like this???

I resubbed for a month to catch back up on the story and went from level 50 to fully caught up in about 3 days - there really is so little when the appeal of ‘number go up’ is gone.

Man did I ever not care about the Jailer from beginning to end, what a complete whiff of a character. I did like the end they gave Sylvanas, even if the face turn felt like there was a missing step in between.

I’ll be very happy to see the back of shadowlands since it has mostly consisted of badly executed systems and pretty particle effects

Speaking of particle effects, I really hope they manage to reign in the art design on the effects and the overall area design for me to suffer less in certain encounters with the next expansion.
Eyestrain and sensory overload aren’t something I like in my games. I stopped playing a certain other game partially because my eyes just couldn’t take anymore.
Clear visuals plz, thank.

Jailer : I’m going to spout edgy one liners about how awesome and greatly complex my plan is and how your victories are hollow… But I was just trying to save you all from the vague bigger bad I won’t tell you anything about.

Players :

Random Titan Construct : Is completely silent throughout the cinematic yet his goals and motivations are so clear you’d have to be genuinely blind not to understand them and manages to connect with you in less than 5 mins.

Players : Stone fren :coffee:.

“You thought other characters had their own motivations, but it was I, Dio!”

More like Tzeentchvaal the way everything was Just As Planned

For another positive, some of the cutscenes showed a massive improvement in the lip syncing - sylvanas’s trial and the Kleia/Pelagos scenes come to mind, and they were genuinely really good.

Stone fren does his job without complaint > goes sleep > comes back when problem arises > fixes problem > accepts death silently > is saved by dragon mommy.

Be like stone fren.

Already a more compelling tale than two years with Zovaal.

It’s partly something I know I’d have a problem with in FFXIV (and I wouldn’t want to counteract it with turning particle effects low). Very flashy stuff often seen in Asian RPGs is just not something I enjoy. In WoW, it can sometimes be pretty cool because most of the stuff is tame in comparison, giving the flashier spells the wow factor that otherwise would be lost among every other ability in your arsenal in other games.

It’s also kinda why I don’t enjoy Diablo 3’s endgame that much (and am worried for Diablo 4 for similar reasons). It just becomes a noisy colourscape of different flashy things and big numbers and it stops being a game for me, even if in mid-game (that is, more or less working through your Season journey) it’s tolerable as you still have to be careful etcetera, and it’s also fun to blitz through everything swiftly - something that won’t happen very late into the game.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, stone friend is just yet another formulaic corporate-forced character to turn it into monetary achievements, be that through merch or memes.

Once I’ve started seeing that, I’ve just lost the interest in many of such myself even if some characters might break out of that mold too. But some are just somewhat too egregiously corpo-forced (like Porgs from Star Wars, or to a smaller extent stone friend or even Zappy Boi).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine and its consequences have been devastating to the standard Twitter/Reddit users.

Honestly, I know it didn’t take much for me to be done with SLands, but still.

Not holding my breath for DF, but am willing to be pleasently surprised.

My consensus is, I could resub and probably catch up on anything story relevant in a week when it concerns SLands, but like I did not enjoy so I won’t.

I may give DF a go for a month when it launches but that’ll be it. I don’t have high hopes for anything coming out of Blizzard and won’t for a long long time coming.

I feel this, I did however, turn most effects down apart from my own simply because it is too much visual noise and it impacts my gameplay very often.
It’s also why I don’t play the healer jobs, who for some reason, are VERY flashy.

Frankly, some raids just melt my brain. I like spell effects and all the wizard fireworks but there’s such a thing as too much flashiness. Mental exhaustion from visual noise is very real.

I broke my game, right? The dark ranger mog isn’t avaliable. Not that I personally plan to use it but I want it in my collection.
