I would like to extend a middle finger to all websites which try to make you sign up in order to use basic features.
I’m searching for concept art from an old, niche game and tumblr of all places had a blog with all the art on it. So I go into the archive, try to search things tagged concept art and it goes “whoaaaa nelly, you gotta sign up before you can do that!”
Pinterest also takes the cake in that 1) it often steals images/art from other websites and reuploads either without permission or without watermarks/credit. 2) You can’t actually right/click or save the images from Pinterest either.
absolute hellsite for it. didnt know tumblr was on the same thing. its becoming a much worse trend thesedays. instagram as well with some artists i follow mostly posting there thesedays
Additional notice, apparently Pinterest is also awful as a workplace and has had several issues with misogyny, racism and all the usual things as late as 2021.
I’m not sure where it came from but ‘egg’ is very common parlance for a trans person who at the time did not realise they were trans - coming out then becomes cracking the egg.
The 4chan part just comes from the fact that a surprisingly large number of trans people grew up on the site, likely because when you’re an outcast trying to figure out things you don’t necessarily have words to describe on the early internet, a forum full of anonymous weirdos is a strangely affirming place
Pinterest is awful, as is every website that tries to control what users can and can’t do with its content.
Here’s what worked for me:
Install the “Double-click Image Downloader” browser extension.
In the extension settings, in the “Hover Button” section, tick the “Enabled” and “Persist after mousing out of image” checkboxes.
Now mousing over any image on any website will display a button that you can click to download it.
There is also the inspector, but the extension is more convenient.
This is horrible if true. If people who are already marginalized end up in one of the most toxic, if not the most toxic place on the entire public Internet, it’s not exactly going to do wonders to their well-being.
I don’t visit 4chan, but excerpts from it that I’ve encountered show what a homophobic and transphobic place it can be.
Accurate, and apparently fuel for some kind of collective fashy femboy fetish for 'cels who seek an alternative to the fundamentally wicked women not in their lives, letting them retain their masculinity while swearing off the devil’s daughters.
I started playing Red Dead 2 again. I’m not sure why I’ve done this because I know I’m just going to end up sitting in the saloon and playing poker instead of anything meaningful.
So someone flagged my post that was basically saying “Tolkien elves are diverse and there’s no reason they can’t come in all human skin colors”, and it was removed by moderators.
The report function on this forum is comically easy to abuse (one person can flick between characters and get a post hidden within a couple of minutes) but mods taking it down too is wild.
I think I missed out on a lot of fun side activities and general tomfoolery when I played it the first time. This time … this time it’s going to be wild.
Annoyingly there isn’t a 60fps for it for PS5, knowing my luck they’ll drop one after I finish it.
Some of the support options in Three Hopes really confuse me. Edelgard gets a C+B convo with Balthus. She gets a C support but no convo with Constance, despite them having an A support and a 'they were roommates ’ ending slide in Three Houses.
Hapi gets a C->A convo with Hubert, but then nothing with Edelgard. Just really odd choices.
