Spent the last pc-less month or so playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses. On one hand, I’m now completely appalled that I bought it on release and never played it, but on the other it’s made the time pass nicely with it being fresh and new to me, so I can’t complain.

I picked Black Eagles, then turned on the unit death mode and picked Golden Deer. The church completely stinks but I only really did supports for the latter and they made everyone so wholesome and nice.

I was going to marry Edelgard but didn’t have any support levels which prompted the second playthrough and I married Ignatz for his lil bowl-cut. There’s just something about his second act glow-up and his glasses.

It also reminded me that I’m the person who wants more anime swordfighters in smash. It’s me. I play almost all of the Fire Emblem people. I need more of them. I even played the Three Hopes demo to scratch the itch but I realised I’d do something financially silly if I enjoyed it too much and forced myself to stop.

Ignatz is a big nerd but his “Let me paint you a picture!” crit line before executing someone is very powerful.

Doesn’t really invalidate what I said though. Some jobs likely have a higher mortality rate in the U.S. but they are likely to be less antagonistic. For example, let’s assume that being a fireman has a higher mortality rate. Firemen are not, however, facing the possibility of being murdered while doing their job by someone else - even if it is remote, this possibility will affect the way in which you think, surely making you more confrontational. That’s how I see it, atleast.

As long as the U.S. have a gun problem, the people who enforce order will take that into account and will use harsher means.

Which brings us back to the idea that better weapon regulation would help to de-escalate conflict between cops and criminals.

edit. I don’t want to defend the U.S.'s police corp as it is (their organization has a lot of severe flaws, unfair privileges and corruption), but at the same time I think it’s not accurate to divide the world just in a cartoonish good and evil perspective. It does no good to anybody.

Policing is safer than pizza delivery but they’re trained to think they’re going to war every day.

And de-escalation training…

as opposed to twitchy, frightened, badly trained goons looking for any excuse to open fire.

Not having a debate tonight!

It’s also curious that the police officers in most countries tend not to be the sharpest knives in the drawer. Talking about your average constable goon here.

Thats awful to hear, the worst thing about gun laws (everyone having the right to bare arms) is because you know so many lunatics can legally bare arms, kinda would make most people jittery…and maybe want to bare arms themselves in defence, which creates this issue of waaaaay to many people walking around with guns, I know police can be bad at times aswell with guns, n make mistakes, but who knows Im not exactly the most appropriate person to speak on it (who is?) but maybe only police having guns should be a thing, but again, who can say, (I live in the UK where basically only certain types of police or…gangsters/roadmen have guns, if everyone could have guns, Id likely want want one myself just to protect my family from nutcases)

Sigmar preserve us

Unfortunately, the time for that has passed. America is devolving into outright fascism (often enabled by the police), where people might actually end up needing guns to fight for their rights.

Also, ‘criminals’ - what criminals? Unarmed black person who is minding their business and just gets mowed down for ‘being suspicious’? The police planting ‘evidence’ to justify a murder? Who is this hypothetical criminal, because guess what, the police really did very well when a criminal was shooting kids in a school, didn’t they?

(What I’m about to say happened in the UK, but it’s more the point of the event)
I went to a shop after college. My hair was corn rowed, and it was summer so my skin was darker.
A security guard followed me around the store, saw me buy my things, but still followed me out of the shop to search my bag and me.
He watched me every damn second.

All I’m going to say is if you pay vague attention to US or UK cops and conclude that they’re anything but overpaid racist and misogynist buffoons I don’t know how to convince you otherwise

So the second movie in the Avatar franchise (the one with the blue aliens) is going to be called Avatar: The Way of Water.

Are they intentionally making it easy to confuse with the better Avatar franchise?
