Blizzard has reportedly cancelled a mobile game version of WoW due to some disagreements with NetEase.
It’s not Arclight Rumble, so it was an unannouced project, which apparantly was “Big”.
A mobile MMO
I sleep
Imagine trying to enter the mobile MMO market when Old School Runescape is out there.
If only they didn’t add Grand Exchange to it again
good news bros. i officially like dragon age inquisition
western approach is a cool zone, things are happening and the combat is more satisfying now i’ve got a good rotation going
1/yes would you suggest a newbie to Dragon Age to jump in here? Own all three for years now though never got around to them.
Telaryn would tell you to start with Inquisition like he did. I started at the beginning with Origin when it had just come out so I have no idea what you should do, I’ll always be biased towards starting from the beginning.
It’s hard to say, I’m biased much like Akamito.
On one hand, I’d say start with Origins. It introduces you to the world better than Inquisition, and with the full story from the previous two titles, I feel like Inquisition has a better impact.
On the other hand, Inquisition is alot more modern. The previous games can be rather clunky in terms of gameplay/show their age a little bit. Still good games though.
Origins combat is quite dated unless you’re a big CRPG person.
What Origins doest best is setting up the worldbuilding and introduce you to Thedas gradually. Ferelden is an easy setting to start in, and other things get explained in a beginner-friendly way.
What DA2 does best is expand upon that story and shift it more towards what ended up being the current narrative. It also does great with its own writing but flops at almost everything else.
Inquisition is the best in terms of gameplay. It’s also the culmination of the built-up story so far and has basically perfected the ongoing lore and worldbuilding of the setting. But it can be alot to jump into, because I don’t know or remember how friendly it is to you if you have zero experience with the story previously.
Inquisition can also be a bit sloggy at times as you are aware of.
this is where telaryn can be useful for once in his life
Minor memories are coming back of playing a city elf in Origins waaaayyyy back in the day. Was that the one with the deep roads? Otherwise I may have actually played both but my brain is being a big dumb.
I think they all feature the deep roads in some sense, but Origins definitely spends a fair bit of time down there at points.
Also to follow up on this, Western Approach is easily one of the top zones. It’s bigger, but it has so much to reward you for exploring, some cool quests, and fun design.
The lore behind it and background story is pretty neat as well.
The second Blight rose up there, and the massive rift at the back of the zone is the scar that is left from the massive amount of Darkspawn that rose up.
There is also a mine at one of the locations that seems to just go straight down into the earth. It is allegedly where one of the remaining Old Gods/Archdemons are resting, but the grey wardens have abandoned trying to get to it that way due to the impossible amount of darkspawn below.
yeah i stumbled on the venatori breaking into some vault that was time locked by ancient tevinter mages. got a cool staff from it
i was trying to make my way to the main quest but kept getting distracted by stuff.
Origins has the longest deep road yeah! It’s an entire story arc/main part of the story. DA2’s Deep roads is just the finale of Act 1, and in Inquisition it’s a DLC.
also finding out that
the seekers created the rite of tranquility and knew how to reverse it is super shady and glad i put lucius down. big character moment for cassandra
my mage was not a happy chappy about that
So many games with no enough brain power for them all!
Already installed ready to play are: DA, Skyrim, MC, FO4, Psychonauts 2 and then Digimon Survive once money comes in…
