oh thats why im out of the loop
i thought it was just a thread about stormwind harbor rp lmao
It was, then THAT happened.
Hoo-boy. You missed quite a saga.
So there was this thread on how Horde RP is dead and that they need a new hub. So someone with that name had the idea to make a new hub because they despised events, guilds and people who DM. So it already started pretty strangely, since their idea was:
A hub in Wrath Dalaran underbelly
Invite only
At certain times and dates every week
Which, as many people pointed out in that exact thread, is just guild RP with extra steps. The idea was doomed to fail and was otherwise innocuous, but they spent a lot of time dunking on people who take the time to DM and kept saying “you don’t do real RP you fight markers!!! You have people to play NPCs in your events??? Still the same go /roll and die hahaha)))))”
That was supposed to be it, but someone made an offhand comment about people getting offended on the internet and they went NUCLEAR with an incredibly weirdchamp rant featuring transphobia and comments on how society has fallen because they’re not allowed to sexually harass female employees.
yeah i started reading the harbor thread as well
some way through i got confused and thought i was in the horde rp thread
the transphobes don’t have one single (1) original thought
They have a single joke, though and that counts for something.
odd that none of them mentioned attack helicotpers in any thread yet.
Obviously not. Seto Kaiba would simply buy Blizzard and fire whoever inconvenienced him.
Funnily enough, before battletags were a thing, you HAD to add someone on real-ID if you wanted to talk to people cross faction. I actually lost friends when I was younger, dumber and way more open about my real identity online because they said “waaaait, I thought you said your name was X not Maximillion. You lied to me!”
Remember when they wanted to force everyone to use real ID at all times?
@whoever was asking about orc surnames a while back
this one got a new unique surname from their parents
Trying to take an afternoon nap because I am old but the warbling screeching of playing children makes rest impossible. Combined with lawnmowing, it sounds like they’re being run through a woodchipper.
reading the house RP thread made me realise something
i have IBS so i cannot eat garlic, and i’m from (north)eastern europe, and i currently have a pretty nocturnal life
can’t believe i found out about my vampire origins this way…
I member - it was very uncomfortable having to share my full name with strangers just to do cross-faction RP
I’m not sure who or from which region handled my case, but some years ago I did the same thing and they changed it without a hitch. Maybe try again after a while?
Maybe it’s the [politics expunged] that made them ban automatic region changes from this country specifically.
In which case it’s a really spiteful decision? Steam let me change my region without a hitch.
Well, it wasn’t automatic for me. I had a live chat with CS where I provided my passport scans and then they manually changed it.
Now the support page asks for a utility bill.
Weird. Well, I did that no less than 4 years ago, so a bunch has changed since I guess. Hope you’ll get it fixed though.
At this point it may be simpler to just create a new account in the EU region. Even if I were to provide a utility bill with my name on it, since the name on my account is made up, they wouldn’t accept it as mine.
Losing 15 years worth of characters would suck, but I’d only be interested in RP anyway.
Then again, I’m not actually planning to resub, nor buy any more Blizzard games. It’s the restriction on my theoretical ability to buy Blizzard games that I’m trying to remove, even though I’m not actually going to buy any.
I would just try to make a ticket again another time. My memory is hazy, but I think I created a ticket with request for a live chat with an employee. Maybe this also changed since then, but I wouldn’t give up. And I agree, I like to keep my options available too, even if currently there isn’t really anything attracting me back.
