Pet peeves: The return (Part 3)

“Forever DM” is a peeve. Sometimes I wanna just play, and not plan. I wanted an Eberron game, but no one was making one, so I decided fine, I’ll do it myself. Overwhelming interest, to the extent I’m considering taking on two groups for it separately instead of just one.

…but could none of them make their own games for me to play in? :frowning:

So we got a kitten three weeks before I left for america. I hoped he would bond with mum, as he did! We thought maybe he would’ve forgotten me.

He remembers me and remembers that biting me is hella fun.

Also I can’t sleep much. Thanks, jetlag.

My next discovery: there’s a limit to how many messages by blocked persons on the forum that you can click to show per day by the looks of it.

(I was opening because in hindsight they’d merited reporting.)

how so?

There’s not much to how-so – I kept clicking to show the messages until the system told me ‘no you’ve done this too often, wait 24 hours you absolute loser’

Its actually funny that in Chinese, cats are called Mao (because of the noise they make) which is actually closer to the noise than meow.

How many messages was that?!

I’ve never had that happen.

Here’s a real pet peeve, the General forums for WoW ever since Blizzard introduced Body Type 1 & 2 have been the most vitriolic and unpleasant gaming forum I’ve ever laid eyes upon.

People complaining that these days children have contempt for authority and no longer bow down when their elders tell them what to do (as if children, throughout all of Human history, ever listened to authority ever?), discussions about “growing thicker skins” and being “less offended” by. . .intentionally offensive behaviour meant solely to insult people? I have to rub my braincells together real-hard to understand how people can lose so much self-awareness.

Edit: I think my favourite line of reasoning I’ve seen so far is the idea that “inclusive people” are the quickest to “exclude and degrade people”, I mean. . .yes? That is the entire philosophy of being intolerant to intolerance. It’s strange that the people who proclaim indifference to these things seem to care deeply when their intolerance is no longer tolerated.

you’re assuming they had any in the first place.

The body 1 and body 2 has just shown that some people are idiots and some of the long time posters have lost my respect because of it (and promptly ended up on my ignore list)

I wasn’t counting, but I probably opened about 10?

I bought some caramel twirls (“limited edition”) because they were on clearance.
Not surprised they were on clearance, I couldn’t taste the caramel. It just tasted like a twirl.

Crap, am I about to turn into a slug person?!

Black and White 2 peeve: I am meant to de-forest the whole land, and did so, but I probably missed one stupid little tree somewhere that hasn’t completely burnt down. Now, the reward of 30k tribute is not too much, but, in the long run it is helpful to have done ( You use tribute in that game as currency to either buy new godly powers, wonders, creature abilities, or buildings etc).

That’s not how I remember the game at all.
Which starter did you pick? I’m partial to Oshawott myself.

I uhh… am not sure we’re talking the same game here? The starter animals you can choose are a cow, orangutan, wolf, lion and tiger.

Is that the Cow familiar from black and white 2?

Black & White 2 is also the name of a Pokémon game, which is much better known than the Black & White series.

I thought you meant Pokémon too.

Well now I feel like a dum dum.

GD always has been vitriolic and unpleasant. Funnily enough, MMO-Champion is somewhat better than GD at this point, even though that cesspit was widely regarded as the worst WoW-related forum to be in.

There are simply no mods in GD, or worse if there are, they’re enabling bigoted behaviour that does not at all fly with the forum rules they’ve set.

If it makes you feel any better, Nexus Mods and ModDB has banned a mod that removed the Pride flags (and murals, I think?) from Spider-Man Remastered, and also banned the user who uploaded it with a very cool response:
