the better title for that game is; Blood Libel the game
EDIT: Also the trans character’s name is; SIRona which is… intersting (its not its about as stupid as Joke’s other names)

Sirona is apparently a Celtic goddess of healing.
I have not looked too far into the game but the character’s a bartender I think?
While I’m sure they’ll play it off as; “we named her after the goddess” the cynic in me will always be; “why that particular goddess though?”
Still feels a bit of a reach.
They could have gone for Amanda if they wanted to take that sort of route.
That would be far less noticable because Amanda is a currently popularish name.
My own orc is a Warsong and he uses the Warsong Howling Axe mog for it. Granted, clans do not seem to be as much of a thing in the Horde anymore, but he still uses an axe like his clan does, howling sound and all, and often fights like a raider ( swooping in with his wolf, nuke the target, get out again) even if he can hold a line as well as any orc. His little way to still honor his old clan.
It’s very ‘cis person’s first trans character’ and there are enough Interesting Coincidences (the collective noun for which, as I’ve said, is ‘dogwhistle’) all compounded on top of the fact that it’s playing Blood Libel Simulator which doesn’t even have the dignity to be a good game
They also revere the ancestors, so even without clans being a big thing it is possible that they revere their predecessors who were Warsong.
Honestly, need a new children’s book series that grows up with its audience to praise (has to be new, have to have the going to the store at 12 to be the 1st to get a copy hype)
We need to irrelevant Joke out of existance.
Even better if the author is queer.
I much prefer Gotrek and Felix to HP.
But I love dwarves and reading about Skaven.
I tell you about Grishaverse again as the author slides another 5 euros to my bank account
Does it do this?
Persey Jackson and Animorphs sort of do grow up with their audience but they both have the problem of being old.
Oh no… It just contains a lot of killing demons and nasties.
Does anything grow up with its audience or do we just form an attachment and it stays with us as we grow up?
I’m not sure about children’s as it’s more aimed for young adult as its target audience, but I think the series grows in tone and maturity as it progresses.
Its what HP is most known for, it started out as a book for young children that gradually got darker as the years went on. The books “grew up” with us.
Ah I get what you mean.
Go for Terry Pratchet stuff instead.
It might not fully fit the criteria but it works.
It isn’t but is because lore is inconsistent. The modern orcish horde isn’t divided by clan but individual orcs have ancestry to consider, I guess. Then there are the frostwolves who are independent(?) with that whole identity going on.
Not to throw a spanner in the works but-- it does need to start off with the airy-fairytale-esc starting point that HP did
Love Terry Pratchet but;
Doesn’t have the;
I read the Lord of the Rings when I was twelve. Something is wrong with me.
I watched Terminator at 6, so–
