Pet peeves: The return (Part 4)

Storywise maybe but his fight was fun. Cat form! Scorpion form! Cat form! Scorpion form! Leap leap leap!

Trying to imagine a feral spec which didn’t just sit in cat and hotswaps between different animals during a fight.

still got like 4-5 hours for shifter, aaaaaaaaaa

me enjoying cataclysm

Here we see the night elf revert to its natural state of coping and seething.

(although i agree that they were, of all races, the least meme-ified)

Firmly agreed. It felt like he was cast aside rather than allow deeper and more realistic rifts to form within the Alliance’s leadership.

imagine my surprise the first time i found magria and learned the hard way the only way to tame her was to tame her nude

forever malding the best version of garrosh was a writing ERROR and they always meant to write him as he was from mists on

error my furry deriere.

i also wish to say this. i liked tol barad. i liked tol barad dailies.

Also worth pointing out that cata was when blizzard started experimenting with swearing more often and the primary way they did that was calling one of the few female faction leaders a slur twice

I still remember the very weird arguments when that line was eventually changed. Apparently some people were way to attached to that being a thing for some reason.

Firelands was also a really fun raid. Most Cata dungeons and raids are all really good.

And while it had some issues at its first implementation, LFR was still very nice as an addition. I did raid in Cata normally aswell, but I had friends who didnt so it was good to play LFR with them+additional gear and good way to learn mechanics.

look if it went both ways it’d be one thing. well maybe not. swearing would have been crass for an elf, undead or not, but sylvanas clapping back on the sexism would have been peak

maybe not for a dwarf though, in an AU somewhere moira’s swearing like a sailor. and thats fine. swearing can be fine. using words like a ends with ss etc is fine. gw2 and eso have been using them for years without being overly crass or directing it at something specific (like only at a woman).

too much to hope with blizzard i guess, then and now

if it was an argument on muting maturity it would have been one thing. the fact it was an argument on “keep in the insult to the woman.” for no other reason than that was that made me glad it was removed in the end

“Woman insult being removed bad, because it shows how strong, beefy & MANLY insulting character is. Insert rant about Blizzard woke.

That was about 98% of the arguments yeah.

I always thought it was one of those things that people read into a little too deeply on both sides of the fence.

Perhaps, but ultimately it was also a line that was very out of place in Warcraft in general and did cause some issues.

Changing it/removing it also did not impact the story or the game experience negatively at all as the conversation carried on just as well without it too.

I am fully for changing things when it is a situation like that. If something does cause some discomfort or problems by existing in the game, but will have zero actual negative impact on anyone for being removed, it should be removed.

im just glad they left in that wildhammers line about calling the alliance “a bunch of wanks.”

that ones a little funny

Yeah, I loved Cata dungeons! They were challenging and fun.

Zul’gurub will always hold a dear place in my heart, and Wrath babies malding over the difficulty was just funny.

LFR was also great, cuz even though it had its issues of long waiting times, getting home from school and chilling while waiting for the queue was peak comf for me.

Imagine if they had put the effort in to create in-universe swears instead of using irl ones.

My favourite one so far is dwarfs using ‘shale’ instead of :poop: both because it flows on a similar line which is easier to substitute when writing/speaking and is also accurate because shale is low-quality stone

All I’m saying is they should do a full world revamp again, ‘next expac’ be damned.

And get the Hearthstone writing team in to Team Lead all of it.
Because, god damn, they actually know what feels like Warcraft still.

Cataclysm set a benchmark for homogenisation (which has steadily grown since) and eradicated all class-race quests. For that alone, it is unforgivable.
