Shooting a bow seems like alot of fun!
It is! I find it visceral and physically satisfying. Also I can now put more detail into emotes when RPing my archers.
(Lintian and Vielle, my WoW and FFXIV mains, both started as archers, though theyâre now branching out.)
Neither should anyone be surprised that these authoritarian monsters will in no way suffer from this being known.
We already have years of examples of republican governors conspiring with domestic terrorists.
Iâve shot LARP bows (real bows just with low poundage and foam-headed arrows) and itâs immensely satisfying to do
My English ancestors smile
They might even benefit from it due to the ongoing polarisation
âNewâ (It started in 2017 but I only just read it) manga recommendation: Magus of the Library.
What if librarians were wizards and also keeping the peace between a bunch of fantasy races like elves and fairies because books are just that important, on the backdrop of what I would call an Arabian Nights aesthetic.
Itâs good!
A solid political base in staunch opposition to the current order is thus emboldened, bulldozing norms on their way to absolute power as a feckless establishment cannot meaningfully mount opposition, too reliant on the norms being ignored and the uncertainty of the democratic process being less comforting than the black and white thinking of authoritarians providing âstabilityâ.
They donât need a majority, they just need to win. Arguing that theyâve thwarted a coup by the democrats as they coup the country looks likely.
If I ever did/do that, I will obviously pick the tallest/biggest longbow I can to fully live up to the tiny girl /w big weapon aesthetic.
And then fail to shoot it completely.
Longbows were big enough that you had to be trained pretty much from childhood to pull them because they were literally 6â long and you would pull them past your ear
I admire the commitment to small girl big weapon though :V
Thatâs American politics for you.
Theyâre bigger than me lol. Iâm 5â0.
My late husband owned a 100lb pull English Longbow. I still have it. It hasnât been strung in many years because he retired from re-enactment.
Also a large collection of swords and staffs. Iâm ok for the next apocalyptic whatever.
Peace
Crow
Iâm seriously considering playing an archer in that upcoming Silmarillion LARP.
âŠOr maybe a linguist. An archer-linguist? Damn, why do I keep defaulting to a Lintian clone as my first character choice
She shoots words at people.
With a bow.
Thereâs just something viscerally satisfying about âThe elves have a reputation for shooting without warning. They claim the first shot is the warning.â
Or maybe she enforces Thingolâs ban on Quenya.
Some unfortunate Noldo: âElen sĂla lĂșmennâ omentiâURKâ
Main posting be like.
Play what you know, tweak to perfection. By doing this, learn new ways for the next character.
As a shortie, I went with a central asian recurve model.
Where one party exists soley to obstruct the other and while both serve corporate interests and oligarchy, the Râs can only win by outright cheating a broken system in want of popular support. Democracy is useless to them and easily discarded once they have a figurehead.
